He was a shy kid at the age of sixteen/ he moved around a bit, new town, with new scenes/ with new things, only allowed for big dreams/ it just seemed, only harder for him to see/ the goal that was at the end of the darkest roads/ his soul was prepared to go where no man would roam/ so he could mould and follow the only life that he knows/ no thoughts of letting go, even when the answers no/ with chances that low, he knew he had his standards up/ he had to show himself he could make it when its tough/ was it enough? Or did he just have his fun?/ though having nothing, I doubt he’d be the type to run/ pencil to pad, writing to jacked beats/ his flows were that mad, always rhyming with dope steeze/ with hopes and dreams, his timing had to be the key/ knowing full well, it was his final chance to be free/ 

Every time you look, every time you think that you’re outmanned
Throw your hands high, stand with your pride, if you’re out there
Fight those hard times, until you find that light, just make your stand
Despite all their might, even when the money’s tight, just take command

A few years later and his asking the question why/ his blood, sweat and tears, were used for this sacrifice/ but yet, he can’t seem to find his vibe/ his task was to take up mics/ to paths which replaces times/ of hardship and shameful nights/ he was a nice kid, but always labelled as the average type/ he stays awake at night, tucked away and outta sight/ basically the way, he’s had to live all his life/ do or die, is it time for him to bail yet?/ he dried his eyes, just to try and take another step/ he kept in mind, all those awful things his father said/ but can’t deny, it’s the reason why he pushed ahead/ with no surprise he’s nearly reached his final test/ will he survive, or will it be another dead/ dream that falls away from his reality/ hearing the screams, from everyone that ever doubted him/ 

He’s sitting there alone, after he’s made it/ it seems like the same road, right before he changed it/ he now hates it, barely even take it/ he made statements, that he’d never lose his patience/ he’s now lazy, and his visions kind of hazy/ it sounds crazy, but I’m glad he found his lady/ hip hop may have been the only thing that saved him/ pissed off, about the way this game has gone and played him/ damn! It seems fame just went over his head/ he made a promise to a friend, to stay till the end/ but the way he was behaving, he decided to step/ cause the things that he was saying was “I wish you were dead”/ he’s praying we’ll understand, but it doesn’t make sense/ why is he begging for change, when he doesn’t owe rent?/ I guess he didn’t expect, growing up with neglect/ but there’s nothing else left, for a man that’s in debt/
