(1.) In this scene from training day, Denzel Washington has just told Ethan Hawk he laced his weed. One of the feelings I wanted to convey in this song was a sense of awakening, and of losing control. When I got laced it was one of the most sobering (so to speak), and enlightening moments I`ve ever had. I don`t recommend it.
(2.) Here I`m telling the audience what kind of style and mood I`m writing in/with. In old kung fu movies, the fighters would tell you they were using monkey paw style or flying crane style, then whoop your ass, and I always kept that in mind. This is also to reach out to anyone else who felt this way. Growing up I spent a lot of time by myself solely because I felt like people just didn’t understand me, and I guess this stuck with me too
(3.) Again another reference to old kung fu flicks, this time also tying how the buzz from trees can hit you. One minute you inhale the next minute you`re pacing the room baked. Strong punches either way.
(4.) On the night I got laced, I remember driving up to my girlfriend at the time`s house and knocking on her door. She claims she was asleep during all this time, but I swore I heard voices in my head that sounded like her and a guy talking. Of course the fact that she only had an open window of 20 minutes to cheat didn’t cross my mind. This line is me reflecting on how far gone I was that day, as well as on some of the darker things covered in the verses.

5. I actually have no Egyptian in me, but I feel that I`ve been spiritually blessed to eventually achieve great things. All I need to do is claim my rightful spot. This is the first "scene" me driving.
6. An image adding to the feeling of the piece. While going to college my roommate of about 2 years turned out to have a bit of a habit (allegedly). Things all came to a head when I walked into my room and found my microphone missing. I`ll always remember how random the actual confrontation was when I caught up with him though. He was just leaving and I remember him looking like a zombie man. Tripped me out.
7. Heroin was his vice, but we can all become addicted to something, especially if we`re using that something to cover up pain or to distance ourselves from sadness. Some might say trees are mine, and they might be right. I just tell em they don`t understand.
8. Took linguistics this semester and it really showed me how much changing the end of a word can flip its meaning. Here I`m saying just because you did something, it doesn’t have to define you. You can choose your ending. (Fuck Horoscopes by the way, they just tell you who to be) Then I extended the metaphor to apply to myself. I hope I live to be someone respected (or as a G). I took the G off of nothing to make the bar a bit more solid at the end.
9. I`ve seen ghosts, angels, demons since a pretty young age. The day I got laced, more than a few decided to visit (either really or in my head, or both) and at times they can be a bit aggressive.

10. This verse starts with the image of me smoking the laced trees in the car. & The fact that my eyes are watering should tell you how out of it I still am.
11. One of the downsides to trees for me is it can give me strong feelings of regret and doubt. Here I`m comparing how strong the feeling was to how Judas would`ve felt if he could go back in time and see Jesus born. Unless he was pure evil, I imagine he`d feel pretty bad about what he did. *edit* after all ive been through because of this stuff, i think i should feel bad that i came back to it.
12. This is an extended metaphor starting with a play on the word “fly” people claim to be fly and associate it with glamorous living. Here I`m saying not only am I fly, I`m as fly as 30 people who fly planes flying man. The plane itself is dirty & tired from the journey though, which is me saying that you don`t have to be rich and glamorous to be “fly” & that choosing to live by a different definition can be tiring. (some high shit right?)
13. Tupac Shakur predicted his death multiple times his music, here I`m hoping get on before it happens (God willing it won`t be soon tho)
14. Here I wanted to use this as an image of a visit to the eye doctors as a metaphor for taking a look at how our country has enslaved us....but i kinda forgot to..... Anyway, so when you take an eye test they have you look at charts of letters. Since I was a kid I`ve always seen little blobs of dark shapes along with them. Doctors always told me to ignore them right? Well here I`m telling the doctor that not only am I going to acknowledge them but that he should too. Sort of speaking back to the system like hey, what you`re doing isnt working man, and maybe a middle finger to that guy too. Ive never gotten my eye tests in the mall since then.
15. Here I`m saying we should separate the darkness from our hearts (Rikku is colder than Sora). I`m saying pure souls should keep darkness away basically
16. Here I`m referencing how people thought the world was going to end when the Mayan calendar did. GeTxUp is a movement I started a little while back. Besides putting out dope music, I want to spread a positive spiritual message and to help destroy the negative, racist, idol worshiping environment that greedy label heads, politicians, presidents, mayors, tv networks & more that I can list created. *Edit* this may sound ranty, but i really do feel this way. Listen to some of the stuff on radio, we memorize this stuff. I was raised by it.
17. Referring back to the third line of the second verse. Now im saying I`m even higher than that line because all the pilots have gotten stoned.
18. This line has a bit of a double meaning. The first is me saying I get what I aim for, but the second has to do with my home town. In Jackson our Target is right next to Best Buy, so if one store doesn`t have what you need you just head across the street.
19. There have been times when I`ve met random people at parties, and gotten my picture taken with them. For some reason, they`d be the only person in the picture with red eyes. On one hand it`s much easier to believe that the light hit only their eyes in that way, but from what I`ve experienced sometimes these individuals aren`t exactly who they pretend to be. Some people have a hard time believing in the supernatural though, because it could mean things are much more messed up than they first considered. *edit* to this is say, doubt is part of faith. Here I use the west nile virus that was killing people to strengthen just how sick the truth can be, and I also use the Nile to reconnect with the Pharaoh line from the beginning.

Description:
This song is about being in love with what`s hurting you. For me "She" was women (one in particular who`s name I won`t say here.) Alcohol, & drugs, but honestly, "She" could be anything. 

Wrote this while staring out the window of my basement after I`d gotten out of the drunk tank. (I had driven up a one way into on coming traffic and spent the night there) 

Don`t drink and drive kids.

2nd verse is a description of my internal struggle with the person drugs made me. For some reason I pictured the biblical story of Moses parting the red sea, except in my case I was over thinking when I should`ve let God handle it. This was me realizing I was my biggest enemy, and also reconciling that for better or worse the bad is part of me as well as the good.
