Elephant in the Room (EITR) is an EP which originated as a spin-off from Oscarr's #Woke16 series; a series of 16-bar raps from Oscarr covering an array of socially relevant topics. The EP was crafted in a bid to shed light on more sensitive topics in a form longer than the conventional 16 bar-format which underscored #Woke16.
The project is a mirror to society's ills as perceived by the artist. Its subject matter ranges from corruption in politics to the in-authenticity of the entertainment industry and the biggest elephant in the room, neo-colonialism. Amidst the pandemic ravaging the globe, EITR will also serve as a capsule capturing the times, but also as a reminder to remain in high spirits.
Special thanks to the amazing producers on the project: PD, OyinGotBeats, Daga Beatmaker and the capeless Ade Lasode, Ri, B.O.S, Omaremii, and ShakezBaba for their creative input.
