These songs emerged from 3 days of total isolation in the studio in Versailles. During these three days, I did introspection, meditation and composed music around that.

In late august I completely isolated myself in the studio in Versailles: no phone, no internet, just my cat :). During these days, I did a big introspection work, by doing meditation and I composed music around this. 5 songs emerged from that isolation, this is the first one.

The studio is inside an apartment in a residential building. All around it, I was hearing and seeing and these little pieces of life: The neighbour taking out his children, people on the road going on holidays or going to work, the train passing by, trees dancing with the wind and the birds singing to the sun.

It made me think about all these little things that, together, form a dynamic set. From the atom to the molecules, molecules to the living, to the nature  and people living together in a society etc... To the entire universe.

I wanted to express this mysterious infinity, this never-stopping machine in perpetual motion, going bigger and bigger.

I was in a very dark place when I composed this. This song is very dark and personal for me. It is about death and despair. It express when you get so lost in darkness that you start to look for hope by looking at the sky (the divine), but you don’t really find it.

I really enjoyed making this very happy music. The motto was: « how can I make myself dance for 5mn? » This song is a bit kitch and cheesy on purpose, to give it an « old school » vibe, but in a "club music" way.

There was a wonderful sunset that night. We could see it from the studio, form where I was standing, in front of the electric piano. I put on the keyboard what I was feeling watching this.

This is the resolution of my 3 days journey. It is the last song I made. It tells the end of a romantic comedy from Hollywood. A very simple song. I was really happy that I made all these songs, in such short period, and to end it in just joyful note.
