My entry in the ATB Financial Alberta Song Contest. Thanks to Stu Kirkwood of Sound Extractor Studios - Edmonton for all the back-up instrumentation and record engineering/production and David Aldana for the photo shoot.

This is also my lesson in compromising myself. First off, I changed the songs name to be more commercial. It is actually called, "When Alberta Let's Her Hair Down". Also, the photo is so not me. I'm a city slicker, not a country boy. Perhaps the false-self projected by my compromise is why I didn't get consideration from the judges.

Although the photo now irks me, I leave it as a reminder of my lesson learned about being authentic.

Carla Wilchuck wrote the original version of the lyrics as Wherever You Go and invited me to create the music accompaniment. Because I like to always make it about me, I adapted the lyrics to make it personal.

This song came out of the tsunami evacuation adventure while on vacation in Kauai as we partied up the Waimea Canyon road waiting on the wave to come. Ukulele bought on the trip and first song I learned to play on it.
