Broken Symmetry- Oblivion

An early demo recording of this piece as performed live at Eyedrum in 2003. We later re-wrote the piece as a  soundtrack to an edited version of the classic film. That version was performed live at City Skies Electronic Music Festival-Decatur, Ga.in  Oct.  2009.

Broken Symmetry-Atlanta, Ga. is and has always been: Gene Thompson, Christopher Swartz and Doug Hughes. The playlist reflects 20+ years of music making with the same line-up . The current collection covers a wide range of styles, ranging from ambient to industrial, with space synth and guitar being a common theme. These multi-track and recorded live performances will be adjusted periodically.  Formed in the early 90's to record and perform music derived from our common interests in sounds; early work was cassette and 4-track 1/4" reels of noise, using found sounds-field recordings with assorted guitar gyrations with lots of effects plus syn-drums and sax.  What we do now is largely analog modeling synths performing free improvisation plus structured compositions. Broken Symmetry performed sporadically in Atlanta and Athens from 1999-2011.
