Finrod+Galadriel has to do with the passage in the Silmarillion where Finrod tells Galadriel things are about to go badly.
The following paraphrase:

FINROD+GALADRIEL

Amateurish stuff about the Silmarillion, no intent to infringe JRRT


The refrain follows the first four lines of the poem of the Eärendillinwë that Frodo heard when he walked off for a minute during the evening in Rivendell and suddenly heard Elvish voices chanting.  The remainder of the piece is intended to shift into sort of a theme of the Silmarillion overall (sort of a cinematic theme) and doesn't follow the rest of poem's words.
Sharp listeners will note a few influences:

1) the spots where it seems to pause are the short bit of music when Aragorn tries to give back the Evenstar to Arwen, shortly after the halfway point of the Two Towers movie (when we had discs it was a minute or 2 into the 2nd disc after Eowyn gives Aragorn the rabbit stew ("The Evenstar does not wax or wane...").  With a triumphal major-key phrase-ending intended for Beren & Luthien that differs from the Two Towers phrase.

2) a few places I borrow from the Returner's Hideout theme in Final Fantasy 6.

Eärendillinwë 2022 06 13 Rough

My favorite track of all of Maurice-Alexis Jarre's Shogun soundtrack, is sadly not on the shorter version of the audio CD of the soundtrack.  Much later it was included on Intrada's much longer Audio CD.

Not intended of course to infringe on Jarre or the producers of the series.

This is similar to what I uploaded earlier it's just that the miniseries used horns extensively, rather than the String section voice that I played it on the FA-08 with, so I have run it through MuseScore 4's horn voice to give an impression of what it more nearly sounds like on TV.

Dissatisfaction Expands To The Available Space

A very short ambient/jazz track with some pads in it

It is sort of like, supposed to be a cutesy update of the little amusing short piano thing in Winger's apartment before he does the pushups at the beginning of Stripes(1981) with Bill Murray.  That they play for about 2 loops.  I know how to play that by ear too and get good satisfaction out of that just laughing at it.

This one per the cover art is sort of an update to Soyjak life in current-day dystopia industrialized cities or something.  He's got his little delusion graphic in his head that things are fine and reality is the smog etc.

Nite Prowl

A new version of the Eärendillinwë  that I earlier released 10 months ago, but
in pure piano form, so that people can hear the chord structure
better, with a more relaxed pace where I could put the
phrases that were missing from the first one.

When I recorded in summer 2022 I had the metronome click
on and felt rushed for time - this version puts some good
things back into it.  Those with a good ear for cinematic
music will note that I am borrowing the ending phrase partly
from a scene in Richard III (1955) with Laurence Olivier.
Those who don't know it - go watch the movie.  You'll instantly
recognize where I pulled this from.

All rights reserved to the Tolkien Estate and whoever currently
holds the music rights to the Richard III movie.  This is very
pointedly a non-monetized, free track.  Just as the earlier version.

It was originally performed by Toto and not released until the Expanded Soundtrack CD in 1997 by PEG
All rights reserved to the owners of the intellectual property (Toto, PEG, Dune Franchise owners, the Herbert family) etc.
This is a totally free track and is not monetized at all.

It is a rather iffy sequencing job...
But it's the thought that counts.

I was going to go take a nap, and then I let myself mess around on the synth, and then I ended up in a weird Korngold Sea Hawk Space.

This is the result.

But also, a reference to a rather recursive joke.

Because the pro-gamer move for emulation people in the early 2000's was to make a T-shirt decal transfer, of the exact screenshot of Sid Meier's Colonization (1994) with the diplomacy menu up with the radio button choices
(unselected) "Very well, we will remove pirates from your shores."
(SELECTED!) "Pirates ?! WHAT Pirates ?! We have NEVER condoned piracy!"

And that is simply because, without it being on Steam yet at that time, the -act- of getting that far -into- Colonization to get the shot and then make a T-Shirt Transfer, was itself....
...a minor form of piracy.

Drums Of The Orcs

The 86th track is about Eighty-Sixing things to Davey Jones' Locker.

Better on a 2nd and 3rd hearing than the 1st where it sounds as raw as Rough Courtship.  It sounded better with the headphones on, within the physical synthesizer prior to export, rather like one's singing sounds better in the shower.

Luck Will Turn

After doing around 5-6 tracks with no percussion...
I was trying to conform to one of the Rock rhythm patterns and the random walk took me to some weird Monster Mash business even though it's July.
I think it's also my melodies are a classical bent so i feel wrong mixing a rock beat because you get blippin' Dracula or something.

Postscript: I mean that never hurt Oingo Boingo or B-52's any.
Rock Lobster as a piece is kind of like that.

Anyway, new one dropped!
Uses the Techno rhythm patterns for the first time.
My strengths are more with syncopation and jazz.
Notwithstanding I should continue to do periodic attempts therefore this -could- be as bad as Just a Stroll.  Be warned lol.

8-15 10pm: haha yeap, Re-Ex rating down at 6 after 2 campaign runs.
Within the realm of reasonable prediction -- I'm not comfortable in the skin of uniform patterns yet.  More practice needed

Inclining to Outlive Mistakes

The closest thing to a protest song that I have done,  this track is dedicated to all those affected by the wildfires and also those fighting them.

People suspect something is rotten in Denmark about the fires' source, and start muttering about the Dawnless Day in the Lord of the Rings.

This then leads to Gollum's favorite name for the sun, and comparing the situation to skulking through the plains of Gorgoroth at a (dimmed) high noon.
