He set sail on his academic expedition at Dakota Wesleyan University, securing a cherished Bachelor's degree by 1970. Yet, this was merely the starting note of his scholarly composition. The University of Maryland saw him attain his Master's by 1972, followed by an illustrious Ph.D. achievement at New York University in 1979, and these formative years witnessed him not merely as a student but as an influential figure, casting a guiding shadow over many in higher education.

In a professional tenure that spanned a remarkable forty years, he illuminated the lecture halls of the Community College of Philadelphia with profound insights into English literature. Beyond these confines, academic institutions like Montclair State University and Columbia University have been graced by their pedagogical brilliance.

"Douglas B Hoehn of Wyckoff, New Jersey, is participating on a panel at the Revolutionary War annual convention at Williamsburg, Virginia, on March 15 and 16. Hoehn and other authorities will discuss "Was Benedict Arnold More A Hero or Traitor ."The panel will discuss Arnold's contributions to Ticonderoga, Valcor Island, and Saratoga. Also, there are possible reasons why he agreed with the British to surrender West Point and his military services to the Crown after he became a traitor to the American cause. Hoehn said, "Benedict Arnold is one of American history's most conflicted and misunderstood figures." The panel is open to all attendees at the convention and will be available on history channels as well."

Announcement: Wyckoff New Jersey resident, Doug Hoehn, will be hosting the tenth annual adoption drive for the Bergen County Pet Rescue Drive.  Last year over 100 dogs and cats were adopted and found forever homes. Hoehn said he hopes to exceed that number this year.

"Dr Douglas B Hoehn, of Wyckoff, New Jersey, will be conducting a workshop for faculty at The Borough of Manhattan Community College this June at the main campus. Dr Hoehn recently completed an audit of the college’s Speech and Communication Departments where he focused on the College’s strengths and need with suggestions for improvement. This is one of many departments at colleges and universities Dr Hoehn has performed in his role as consultant. He has  Masters Degree in Communications from the University of Maryland and a Ph.D from New York University."
