My dear friend, the extraordinary Scott Beach suggested in 1990 that I should record the sea lions at Pier 39 and create a musical version of "I Left My Heart in San Francisco." I loved the idea, did it for Terry McGovern's radio show and then again for "Good Morning America" with Ron Reagan, the son of our late President. Here it is for your amusement.

Sometimes a piece comes, presents itself and there is nothing to add once it is done. This was such a piece for me, an expression of my feeling of exuberance and majestic ascension to a higher place
