Vocalise 3 Scoring Competition by Heavyocity

In the context of confronting contemporary themes, I felt called to write an elegy for those we have lost to the ongoing global Covid-19 pandemic. Lathrop's narrative details the cycle of suffering, loss, and grief so many of us have experienced.

The text evokes the mysteries surrounding life and death and manifests hope as a comforting companion for the dead and those who remember them: The imagery of the vine and berry blooming overhead the dead and the exclamation of promise offered in the arms of mystery's bounty is a stirring conviction and apt balm for those who remain.
