Anna Gram - Cut Through The Noise [COR110]

With ‘Cut Through The Noise', we take a break from our singles series to welcome @anna-gram’s highly exciting third EP !

Fascinated and passionate about music from a young age, growing up in the UK in the 80s got her in touch with a wide range of sounds going from italo, early trance, breakbeat to synth-pop, hardcore and techno.

Now based in Glasgow and with a DJ career spanning over two decades, Anna Gram recently got into production with a debut EP on Hammer’s imprint ‘Remmah’ in 2021 and the follow up on Permanent Vacation last year.

She’s now back in full force and through these 3 tracks we can feel her dedication to craft a definitely modern sound, drawing strength from her days spent daydreaming about proper raves and feeding on 90s music.

It’s easy to get lost into the cosmic feeling, swirling melodies and hypnotizing vocal line running through the title track ‘Cut Through The Noise’, followed by the most euphoric cut ’Mind Control’, a significant contender for new neo-italo anthem. Wrapping up the trip and bringing in an electrifying energy is the ecstatic and trippy ‘Spirograph’ where electronica meets progressive trance.

A clever blend of yesteryear atmospheres and current popular music, it's without a doubt in these stereotypes that the most beautiful Italian bangers are forged !

St. Petersburg-born Cologne-based producer & DJ Etane makes his debut on the ODD Pleasures. He is the head of the Intertrax music community & co-curator of the Oberwave community.

Etane presents 'Tōru', a new EP that serves as a profound dialogue between electronic music and avant-garde art. By integrating fragments of various art forms, Etane merges two distinct worlds into a singular immersive experience.

Opening up with EP’s self-titled track Ai ‘Tōru’, Etane presents an obscure landscape with hints of italo and techno. Where well rounded lower tones meet excited percussion and organic vocal pads merge with tripped out arpeggios. A fresh and perfectly balanced blend that showcases his signature sound from the very beginning..

Stuttery vocals, impactful drums, bouncy basslines and frenetic synths are the main ingredients of ‘Obsessive’, an elegant recipe ideal for uplifting moments of the night.

Furthermore, 'i.e. Limitations' (In Other Words, Limitations) draws a high speed cinematic story, driving through a highway of smashing drums, catchy melodic synths, energetic arpeggiators and unexpected breakbeats.

Closing up the EP label head Aural Trace delivers a remix of his own. Bringing Ai ‘Tōru’ into a new dimension; presenting a dance floor breaking italo journey. Where a driving octave bass line meets shimmery crystal pads, and high-powered drums. Resulting into a nostalgic neon dream.

Naominitel is a producer, DJ and live performer, resident of Kluster and Glitcrew in Paris. Naominitel’s live show uses synths, machines, voice and a guitar to merge dark disco and rock influence. Italo Bass Line Technology is a french duo of DJs, producers and event organizers that promote italo disco in Paris.  
Solenoid Engine is a raw dark disco track that was build with a Massive softsynth bassline coupled with a Volca Bass and pads from a Minilogue XD. Effects were added with a  Roland MX-1 mixer. Italo Bass Line Technology brought an extravagant italo vibe to the original track. A version of this remix with vocals is available also."
