About this journey:
Sinfonía Lunar - a sonic compilation in honour of our beautiful & ever-present planetary companion. Always looking so utterly beautiful in all of her diverse appearances. While affecting so much of our daily lives with many of us not even consciously noticing what I appreciate most about her is the cyclic energy she delivers. Initiating as well as terminating different periods. This mix was recorded during the New Moon in the beginning of October and represents not only the shift into a new lunar cycle but also the slow shift from the super dynamic & high energy summer season into the shorter, slower and cosier days of autumn and winter. It’s time to decelerate and journey into oneself. Let’s reflect and process all that happened during the spring & summer months of 2024. Continually riding the smooth wave of 94 BPM, this mix is a trip through some very hypnotic, deep and organic downtempo that genuinely affected me all throughout the year and especially recently. Saymon aka. Mysteries Of The World - Nyepi

Discipline is the art of aligning chaos with purpose: the silent gravity that shapes the galaxies of the mind. To live with order is to dance with eternity, to refine impulse into creation itself. In each measured breath lies the paradox of control and freedom, of stillness and expansion. The cosmos rewards those who move with intention, for mastery is not restriction, but harmony with the infinite pulse of existence.

Somewhere, way up there in a galaxy far, far away, there was a boy floating around in space.
This boy’s head was filled with sounds so trippy, so unique and so melancholic - that when an idea came, it was unlike anything you’d ever heard before. The boy’s ears were filled with endless amounts of recycled stardust - so that whenever he put on his headphones to make music, everything he created sounded like heaven. And the boy’s mind was constantly buzzing with impulses - so that whenever he expressed himself, they came pouring out of him in the form of sublime music. To us, he is known as Ninze.
Ninze is multi-faceted, yet utterly recognisable in his style. Having first taken the music scene by storm with unique productions and famously slo-ow DJ sets alongside his 2nd half Okaxy, he has since evolved as a solo artist as well as a member of the production- and live performance trio Wide Awake. 
No matter what he does, you can always hear it: that distinct sound that makes your knees feel like jelly and your thoughts like cloudy shadows. It’s a vibe that transports you to a place in your mind, something in between diving into trippy underwater melancholia and shooting up into deep cosmic space.
It’s only fitting then that our next podcast is a live set recorded specially for the Urban Cosmic Universe. If you listen closely, you’ll notice the little shooting stars, pulling you deeper and deeper into a world you can lose yourself in with ease. 
So finally, to quote the man himself: “roll it up, light it up, press play”*

Ich wusste jetzt, warum er abendlang auf dem Wachthügel saß, warum er die Nächte einsam am Fluß verbrachte, warum er ständig nur ihm wahrnehmbaren Klängen nachlauschte und warum seine Augen zuweilen aufloderten und die Brauen sich plötzlich erwartungsvoll hoben. Das war ein Mensch, der eine tiefe Liebe in sich trug. Keine Liebe, das fühlte ich, wie man sie für einen anderen empfindet, sondern eine weit größere, die Liebe zum Leben, zur Erde. Ja, er verwahrte diese Liebe in sich, in seiner Musik, er lebte durch sie."

As 2018 is nearly over and 2019 is approaching fast I wanted to share a little something with you. You guys keep pushing me with all your love and appreciation and this is to say thank you. This year has been even more crazy than the ones before and I am already looking very much forward to everything that lies ahead. So, to say thank you, here is the recording from my latest gig at the lovely Klunkerkranich in Berlin.

Jellyfish Talks

Here is my live set from Envision 2019 in Costa Rica. This was one of the most powerful sets of my life. I played live so it is all loops and improvised instrumentation with my three musician friends that accompanied me on the journey: Darren Austin Hall on vocals, Marcelo Berges on guitar, and Chris Assaad on vocals. All three of these guys are great musicians in their own right so it was really fun to collaborate with them and weave this journey for a really beautiful group of people ready to receive these vibrations with a totally open heart and mind.

a sicilian odyssey

They say everything happens for a reason.
They say you don’t get the burn you want but the burn you need.
Metamorphoses starts when you realize that both are true.

My burn started this year with the most amazing gift, I got to play a night till dawn set at Robot Heart. Watching the sun rise while playing the music that I love and putting a smile on so many beautiful souls was the climax of the already insane summer. This set really pumped me up and it got followed by a 3 days in row party with everything that includes. 

However on Wednesday late afternoon what needed to happen, happened. After finishing a set I took my e-bike, went full speed on the playa and BOOM! Huge fall, head first, shoulder second and then my whole body (PS: E-bike, excesses and lack of sleep are a very bad combination). Of course, I stood up directly and partied again, but the day after was one of the biggest hangovers I have ever had.  I had to go to the hospital, couldn’t move or do anything, I was coming down, tired, depressed, in doubt and didn’t know what to do with myself. I ended up spending 48 hours at my camp, sober, hanging out with friends, sleeping and eating which is something that I actually haven’t done for a very long time. 

On Saturday morning when I started feeling better, I decided to go to Robot Heart for a quick listen.  I met the Robot Heart family who told me to come hang out on the bus for the Man Burn.  I stayed really quiet during the whole day and was at their camp at 7pm sharp.  At that moment, Benjamin Alexander comes to me and asks if I had my USB key with me (I did, don’t ask me why, I didn’t have any gigs planned but I took it anyway). He then tells me that the DJ who was supposed to play didn’t make it (it’s burning man, it happens to everybody) and if I was interested in playing the Man Burn.  He then explains to me that man burn at Robot Heart is not about making people dance or drawing attention, it’s about creating a cinematic soundtrack for it.  I of course said yes, not having any clue about what I was gonna play or even what a cinematic soundtrack to the burn was. 

Next thing I know, I’m behind the decks on the love bus, far from the chaos, with a perfect view on the man, I’m playing some downtempo, ambiant, deep, and mostly super emotional music, and then BOOM! Fireworks, looking around me everybody is hugging smiling and living the life the way it should be… few tears are shed… I played the man burn on the Robot Heart bus.

There was something I needed to learn here - life gives me exactly what I need to grow + evolve.
Believe in the power of the playa, believe in yourself.
Everything happens for a reason.
You don’t get the burn you want but the burn you need.
Metamorphoses starts when you realize that what is said above is true.
