Downtown Prophets is James Cox (Lead VOX/Rythym Guitar), Ashley Pennycook (Drums), Adam Gawryluk (Lead Guitar), Josh Schneider (Bass).


Based out of Calgary Alberta, the members of the band have come together from various places spanning the country to assault the indie scene with their entertaining and original punk rock sound.

With influences ranging from the traditional Punk Rock, Progressive Rock, Pop, Blues, Ska, and Heavy Metal, the Prophets truly have found a fresh sound that is all their own. The quartet has already garnered a respectable amount of attention. Even before placing 2nd in the x92.9 FM/Big Rock Original Music Showcase (OMS) Battle of the bands, their single ‘Fire on the Streets’ was playing on x92.9 FM Project Punk, and they now receive near weekly play on the exposure program. Immensely dedicated to their music, as well as promotional aspects, the group has gone on to play many successful shows including an opening act for international artist ‘Gob’ at the Gateway on both the 12th and 13th of May.
