The first Moodfamily release brings co-founder and Belgian strong man AMyn to the table. 

The first track is the title track of the EP called 'Twisted River'. It’s a musical work that takes you a few years back combining a steady groove with an abstract melody that reaches beyond audible frequencies which will haunt dancefloors everywhere. It grabs and releases tension while it flows like a – you guessed it – twisted river.

Canson delivers a melancholic and deeply personal variation on the original twisted melody. While his piano hypnotizes, the main melody is cut, sliced and placed carefully, provoking subtle escapes from the main theme.  

The bassline brings more focus to this new mood which is created throughout the track by not grabbing the attention but rather fueling a sensitive groove. This brings the song into a completely new atmosphere fueled by a haunting synth which builds gently as the song evolves. 

The B-side, 'Gloam' might as well be the A-side as it requires somewhat more attention, but after listening to it for a few times it sticks to your mind. The melody is looming and it moves freely over a careless groove. It is a tad slower, but this allows a clear pronunciation of the musical phrases.

The topic of „Salome“ fits the two producers Kadebostan and Laolu from Switzerland perfectly. Just listen to their prior releases on Freude Am Tanzen, fenou or Clap Your Hands. The melodies sway back and forth - dreamy and full of peace. The rhythm group plays along and only the most necessary things. And even though the vocal phrases retain their own character, they blend into this musical structure as if they were made for these tracks. The A and the B face show a masterly crafted arrangement. It would be a mistake not to listen to the whole, as one would miss the feeling to let yourself go. As usual, the lovingly designed 10inch record is a limited edition and numbered by hand.

The emotional, cosmic sound of Drahte makes its debut on Loot Recordings with a four track EP of deep, melodic techno that includes a powerhouse remix by Rafael Cerato.

Drahte are an electronic duo based in Naples who don’t say much, but instead like to offer you a trip in a musical form. Their infectious, deep, beautiful sound is from the heart and makes an emotional impact. 

The title track “Virgo” is a dramatic and rolling tech cut with heavy drums. The synth work adds a sombre vibe and the chords gently roll up and down the scale, hooking you from the start. The Rafael Cerato remix is a stripped-down version and takes on a more driving and deep vibe. Lovely wooden hits help power things along, as do some muffled vocals, but it’s the emotive strings and moody synth leads that own the show here.

“Two Stars” is a turbulent track with edgy chords that pan throughout the track, with heavy drums, crisp claps and a real melodic arrangement that adds to the dynamism of the track. Closing the EP is “Cosmo” that’s atmospheric and deep, sprinkled with spaced out keys, chaotic chords and intriguing breakdowns.
