“The Promise,” is a soul ballad that evokes nostalgia and hope. This second single in preparation for his Album After Five Music, features a stripped down arrangement with Dante at the piano and singing. The song was written to commemorate the 50th anniversary of his grandparents marriage. They requested a new song and he fulfilled his promise, ere go the name, “The Promise.” 

After Five Music is a soulful, jazz influenced project that reflects our everyday experiences. My most recent single, "One Summer's Eve," a Motown inspired composition, is just a taste of what you can expect to hear. This project is a reflection of the honest,intentional conversations we have  After Five. After Five, we explore the memories of blossoming love, let-downs, and hopes for a better tomorrow with those we trust and love. It’s a nostalgic revisit to the era of Mowtown, Stax and the foundations of soul music.

The Promise

This classic tune, "Christmas Time is Here," is a collaboration between, vocalist Blair Rosario and producer, multi-instrumentalist Dante' Pope. Her sultry sound and his smooth vibrato make for a duet you don't want to miss.

Dante’ Pope is a soul drummer-vocalist and a native of Chicago, Illinois. He blends his gospel roots with a soulful swing that has been showcased all around the world. This year he released his debut soul project, 'After Five Music,'  and collaborated on a GRAMMY nominated album called, 'Black Cowboys,' a collaborative project with GRAMMY Award-winning artist , Dom Flemons and Smithsonian Folkways. His passion for arts in education has connected him with The Musicianship and the DC Arts and Humanities Council’s grant programs. He creates learning experiences with world class talent for 100 4th-5th graders once a month for The Musicianhsip’s Master Class Series. To date he has assisted in servicing over 1000 students in the DC area.
