3rd single from the debutalbum RYLE ’The Adventures Of Jefferson Keyes’ features two danes; soul wonderboy ’Gregers’ and talkbox guru ’Jimmy Antony’. Both are well established musicians in Denmark. Here they both team up with Frank Ryle on the groovy dancer ’Busy Dreamin’.

Gregers comes from a background in Jazz and Funk scene. His latest release, the EP ‘Standing Out’, was nominated for best EP 2015 & Best Single 2015 at the prestigious Scandinavian Soul Music Awards in Stockholm. He’s an uprising Soul and Nu Funk artist touring with a great live act as well, mixing club and soul/funk with catchy and charming performance. Gregers is a gifted songwriter as well combining strong hooks and funky melodic toplines. Currently working for Reservoir Media in New York.

Jimmy Antony is a Danish producer with 25 years of experience. He had his first cut on a record in 1995, which since has been followed by many productions for artists both in and outside of Denmark. With a track-record including singers and rappers in Denmark, USA, Spain, Sweden, UK and Switzerland, Jimmy has also been working with famous artists like renowned soul-legend Gregory Abbott as well as one of the biggest rappers in the world, Ice Cube. Over the last 20 years Jimmy has reached the status of being the most sought after Talkbox player in Denmark.

Frank says; it is a great pleasure for me to be able to present and feature two very talented musicians from Denmark. The talkbox have been a favorite for me ever since I heard it the first time on a Zapp record. Jimmy Antony is the man you want for that job. Gregers is an up and coming super singer with a unique voice that in some places will remind you of Swedish singer Eric Gadd. To me Gregers provide the type of music I love a youth freshness – that I feel is lacking sometimes in the modern soul of today. I guess I fear that the younger generation won’t pick up our love and devotion for soul music, if we don’t find more guys & girls like Gregers.

Acid Jazz is proud to announce that it has entered a long term licensing deal with soul legend Leroy Hutson. 

Hutson, long revered on the soul scene for his production, songwriting and perfromace skills, was Curtis Mayfield’s heir apparent chosen by the great man, to replace him in the Impressions, and then groomed for an extensive solo career on Curtis' own label, Curtom.

The Hutson catalogue has not been available on any format for nearly two decades. The label will be working with Leroy and his team to create the definitive sounding masters, and unearthing lost gems from his extensive archive.

First out of the traps is a double sided limited edition 45 containing two previously unreleased Hutson gems. The A-side is a previously unreleased 1977 recording, which is making its debut on this single. It is coupled with the unreleased full length instrumental of ‘All Because Of You’.

This will be given it debut on Gilles Peterson’s BBC Radio 6 show tomorrow. This single will be strictly limited and is sure to be the soul scene’s sound of the summer.
