The closing of Mensch Meier in December 2023 was a symbolic happening in the Berliner scene. With its inclusive mindset, it was one of Berlin's most renowned clubs. This is why its re-opening by the owners as Abstrakt represented a huge victory for the scene and city itself. A celebration I've had the privillege to be part of by playing a dj set from on saturday night / sunday morning from 2:00 to 4:00.

This set was truly one for the books, and I very much enjoyed playing a bit faster and stronger than my usual sound. Keeping the flow throughout the set was pretty challenging for me though, as I mostly played spontaneously and I often simply didn't know what to play next. But, in the end, this only added to how special that night turned out to be. The renovated Lichtung (formerly known as Räuberhöhle) is terrific! I didn't know they had rebuilt the floor for the opening, and when I saw it my excitement went through the roof <3

 This time, I've managed to record the crowd as well, so you can hopefully feel what I am talking about. Happy listening (:

The music of Dr. Bumquist is like a journey through the swirling abysses of the mind, my dear. There's a lot of skill and a touch of madness in it. A sort of musical alchemy, if you ask me. His exploration of the electronic music realm over the past two decades has taught him to discern four different states of being in this universe. They are cool, groovy, hip, and square. And he's experienced them all.

He weaves his research findings into a magical tapestry somewhere in the no man's land between Techno, Acid, Trance, and Breaks. That's the stuff legends are made of.
