Love You Gently

Dr Meaker is a Bristol Artist / Producer and Live Act with a long history of creating ‘Dirt & Soul’ music and Art.  Dr Meaker teams up with Celestine, the awesome front lady of their award-winning Drum & Bass Live Act.

The song (Repetition) is about man’s instinct to go to war.  How humans keep making the same decisions, over and over, to invade and conquer.  Hence Repetition.   The project is a multi-media experience, with a video in the making, which draws on similarities between the physical and behavioural aspects of the natural ‘animal’ World and comparing them to the human ‘man made’ World.   Humans aren’t so different.   We build shields, weapons, defence systems, refuge systems, tools and camouflage.   Much of this is instinctive and “built in” to the evolutionarily process. There is repetition in nature and throughout all that we know (Universe).

“I wrote the music, inspired by my favourite minimalist composers Steve Reich, Phillip Glass and Michael Nyman.  I wanted to create my own feeling within this music and combine it with the Drum and bass style I usually make, to create a new sub-genre within the genre.” – Clive Meaker
