This is reworking of the theme I developed for the Major League Baseball's original "World Baseball Classic" in 2006.  This piece is more developed than the original.  It utilizes a larger symphony orchestra - 92 players as opposed to 72 from the original.  Also, the world music percussion section from the original is more developed and here supports theme development in the 3 trumpet parts that ride above it.

I had the great fun of conducting this piece with the Angel City Symphony at Dodger Stadium as part of the opening ceremony for the championship game between Japan (again) and Korea.   This time, we had the symphony at 2nd base - but also had 12 Japanese taiko drummers on the 1st base line and 12 Korean traditional percussionists on the 3rd baseline.  

This recording features a performance by the Philharmonia Bulgarica conducted by Luc Brewaeys.  The 3 trumpets were performed by Don Harris, formerly of "Tower of Power."  Additional percussion was performed by Alfredo Alias.
