“Everyday Mysteries Part 2 is another EP featuring various artists who have contributed both musically and emotionally to the creation of this music.
The first two tracks were largely crafted using a Buchla Music Easel, which is the only synthesizer I have ever used that leads you instead of you controlling it. Reading the history of this instrument, particularly its connections to LSD, makes so much sense when you learn about how it is configured. A big thanks to Vincenzo for his contributions to the collaboration; we were led into a darker, less melodic sound which seemed to fit the mood of a winter filled with a lot of negativity surrounding the world and society. The vocal by Werner Herzog in track 2 truly captures the mood of the time.
The third track carries the message of Kierkegaard and his theory on the man of immediacy. It was a great experience to work on this with juSt b, and her voice perfectly captures the essence of the content. The melodic element was created with the Soma Terra, which was a joy to play alongside her vocals. It's also a pleasure to welcome Tim French to the label; his views and values truly complement the series. There will be original music from Tim on future EPs, and his rendition of the original provides different depths and meanings.

The message from Kierkegaard is as follows:
“The man of immediacy does not know himself; he quite literally identifies himself only by the clothes he wears, he identifies himself by externalities. There is hardly a more ludicrous mistake, for a self is indeed infinitely distinct from an externality. When the externals have completely changed for the person and he has despaired he goes one step further, what if he did become someone else? I wonder if he would recognise himself”.

For release number 045, Luv Shack Records brings together two long time contributors Jakobin and ROTCIV for a split EP thats brimming with references to early 90s electronica.
Jakobin lays the foundation with the bubbly, trance infused 'Drawan', follows up with the spooky, upbeat electro of 'Skulpt', and finishes off with 'Octagonial Tribe', a track that oscillates between laid back melodies and squelchy acid sequences.
On the flip-side, ROTCIV showcases his signature style of industrial new beat madness: 'Frenesy' marries breakbeats with syncopated synthesizer sequences, 'No More Room in Hell' sound like a late 80s Italo Disco instrumental on steroids, while 'The Confidence' opts for broken beats and ethereal FM-flutes. As a digital bonus, ROTCIV gifts us with a heavy hitting, acid infused track by the name of 'Living Art'.

Hardcore is an important genre for the dance music scene, it has helped shape the scene into what it is today. Hardcore has inspired producers worldwide and hints of it can be heard throughout many other genres. It is carefully engineered to keep the atmosphere loving, warm and intimate whilst keeping the energy levels high with its crushing breaks and 4x4 sections that are sure to make you loose control of your limbs. It’s the perfect balance of lust and aggression.

Not only did it have an impact on the music scene, It also had an impact on society. It brought people together, broke down boundaries and tensions between groups. It also created a surge in creative energy. The creative energy was coming from hardcore raves. From the music, the visuals, the flyers, the graphic branding behind the rave groups, they didn’t have to conform to any design rules. They were free to do what they wanted, this energy was being injected into everyday life.

It is vital that we keep this beautiful genre alive and strong so that It can keep on giving. The ‘Hardcore will never die’ compilation from Corrupt Data is a free download and features 12 tracks from 12 producers. The compilation focuses on both new and old wave hardcore, some links more subtle than others. Its great to see how the genre has evolved, adapted and been interpreted by others. Each track is totally different and represents hardcore in its own way.

The release is a celebration of the genre and hopes to fuel, ignite or re-ignite passion for hardcore.

Bakground - Runnerz

The Paris-based artist Shonen Bat takes Corrupt Data’s sound of reformed nostalgia, and transports it to a place of luscious organic sound, and glittering futurism, in the eclectic ‘Shapes of Disruption’. 

Nitro engine keeps the pace in the midsection of this EP. Sticky and clicky percussion snaps beneath sharp, nostalgic trance stabs. The playful cut Voodoo Pills follows a crystal and aqueous melody flowing throughout a swampy and leafy treeline of break patterns. This is sharply contrasted in the mechanical, and synthetic sound of ‘Zuckerborg’; an AFX-ian piece of IDM, with hurtling, bit crushed breaks and a palpitating 8-bit synthesiser.  The EP comes to a paranoid conclusion with ‘Meth Lab’: a dark excursion into the cellars. Swelling low ends surge and mutate, as erratic metallic glitches punch through to the surface.
