This piece was Commissioned in 1997 by David Kidwell for the Holyoke Mass Symphony Orchestra.

The style of this piece is a tribute to the light and lively classical style of Mozart, Haydn and so many others.

Inspired by spring in Dallas, with beautiful Azaleas and fireflies all around.

An early version of this work was performed by the Moravian Philharmonic Orchestra 1998.

An Ekphora is an Ancient Greek burial procession. 

This is essentially the first part of my piece, "Requiem-Becoming One" from  "Soundtracks of Life - Volume One", but presented as a shorter stand-alone piece with a big and exciting Hollywood style ending.
