Baal is a Pagan deity worshiped in ancient Canaan and Phoenicia as husband of the deity Asherah and was usually depicted in the shape of a bull. The worship of Baal penetrated Jewish religious life during the rule of Ahab and influenced Judah. The God of Israel condemns Baal worship. An example of Israel going after Baal leads to their loss of direction and ultimately, scattering at the hands of the Assyrians and the Babylonians.

Baal took on a new role as Zeus in the Ancient Greek pantheon (Daniel 8); but the Greek pantheon later gets repeated in the Roman pantheon, and practices from both the Greeks and the Romans still exist today.

Today we all watch Devil Worship in plain site on TV. During opening ceremony of Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, England on July 28, 2022, a giant mechanical Bull with glowing red eyes nicknamed “Raging Bull” was erected and rolled into the center of Alexander stadium as human performers gathered around it and literally began to bow down and worship the Bull on global television. 

Evil practices never go away; they simply evolve. It may seem easy to point the finger at this carefully orchestrated Baal worship but we should all ask ourselves “How many pagan ideas have we let seep in into our Holy places?”￼ 

1 Kings 19:18 & also Romans 11:4 - But what is God’s reply? “I have kept for myself 7000 men who have never bowed down to Baal nor Kissed him.”
