There’s just something about stringed instruments that touches our shaken souls, embraces them, lifts them up and tosses them around until we lose track of time and space. Some people experiment with psychedelics to reach that effect, you really just need ears though. Not to say they won’t subsidize, but that’s a matter for another time.

Put those strings into context, give them space to breathe, support them with a rhythmic backbone, throw in a metaphorical surfboard and they will call themselves “ali dada”.
The swiss/intergalactic formation consisting of Orlando Ludens, mfjaeger and Max Licht join our little trip sitting outlet with their soothing “empa nada” EP.

Reminiscent of surf rock and shoegaze from the golden days, taken into the future with some modular goodness and further musical machinery, the trio delivers four timeless pieces of cosmic proportions. Nothing seems rigid here, rules don’t apply, a sense of improvisation hangs in the room, even after the last bar fades. Music for melting into your couch, or getting your first sunburn of the season, as well as putting another log into the fireplace.
Timeless, as I mentioned earlier.

And if that wasn’t enough, we’ve added four ingenious takes on those originals, ranging from even dubbier shores right onto the dancefloors. The bands own mfj goes first with a mind bending extension of “lauf”, handing the torch over to beat breaking Chewlie who deconstructed “empa nada”, followed by a weird house take on “sofaul” from our dearest Fereinwonung Koratien, who contributed the wildly trippy artwork as well, finished off with a definite stomper twist of “late” by IroniMo who wouldn’t take any chances.
