No newcomer to the music scene Gene Farris started Djing when he was 17.  Gene then slide effortlessly from behind the turn table to in front of drum machines and synthesizers ….releasing his first track back in 1995 on Relief Records. Gene is one of the reasons why we have the music scene we have today.  He has worked with and learned from some of the very best….like the Chicago’s House legendary DJ ….Ron Hardy and the infamous Lil Louis. He has always known how to get crowds up on their feet and keep them there…and when he wanted to start doing the tracker side of things he began recording on Relief Records…following and sometimes leading that Chicago track tradition.
Now here we are today…some 24 years later spellbound by his newest album…THEN & NOW.   We are finding ourselves unable to turn this new album off….unable to even fast forward from one track to another.  One minute he takes us back to his early days with the heavy beats and pounding rhythm of some all time fan favorites like Sight & Sound, Perkin Hard, & Pitrippin….and the next he has catapulted us into the grimy…throbbing new cuts like My Love, Spin Cycle, & Shimmy Shimmy.

You can feel Gene’s heart and soul in each track.  While your body responds to each note…each throbbing beat….you are once again connected to that unmistakable combination of talent, timing, rhythm and undeniable passion.  There is no denying that he is here to stay….getting better with each new beat….and leaving no mistake in anyone’s mind that the best is yet to come.

A few months have passed since Larry Cadge released new tracks. After remixing Gunnar Stiller and Ray Okpara’s tunes, Larry’s back with another pumping release titled “Vivian’s Kiss”. On this release Larry makes a tribute to the famous movie where the pretty Vivian sings while she is having a bath. 

The original mix is made up of highly infectious drums and a rolling baseline, with some vocal phrases by the beautiful Vivian. The atmosphere in the breakdowns becomes very chilled, without ever becoming cheesy or too melodic for the underground style. The dub mix trusts on nothing more than rhythmic drums, with a deep and stubby bass taking care of the lower frequency space, stripping down the track and keeping it to a strictly underground mood. 
Larry’s no newbie to the electronic music scene, and he proved bringing his fresh and distinctive sound on labels like Noir, Kling Klong and Great Stuff, and being followed by over 18000 music fans. 

Based in London but now operating on a global level - Smiley Fingers are an independent House and Techno record label that are pushing an extensive line of highly rated producers that are looking to fill the world with good vibes using nothing more than diverse talents in music production. Although only marking its seventh release here the Cuttin’ Headz imprint has carved out quite the reputation already with its most recent output, a collaboration between label-heads Martinez Brothers and Miss Kittin garnering huge support from both underground and commercial tastemakers. Here though we see the label reach out to one of underground house music’s most revered producers, namely Luke Solomon, co-founder of The Classic Music Company alongside Derrick Carter and a name synonymous with raw, authentic and soulful electronic music.
The Vocal Mix of ‘Script kicks things off and sees Solomon deliver a typically unique take on modern house music via crunchy rhythms, deftly flowing bass sequences and an ever-evolving dynamic while Nick Maurer’s murky vocal stylings are intricately processed to further fuel the tripped-out hypnotic feel of the record. ‘Beats Work’ follows and lays the focus on bumpy percussion, a heady 303 lead, sporadic synth fills and a hooky vocal lick to create an understated dance floor workout.
Atlanta’s Byron The Aquarius turns in a dreamy interpretation of ‘Script’ to follow, employing mesmeric bell chimes and soft atmospherics to swell around the foundation of the original composition before New York’s Filsonik strips things back to the core his rough and ready 808 led rework. The package is then closed with a ‘Long Time Dub’ from Luke focusing solely on the driving energy of the record.

Mid way through an immense yearlong tour celebrating 10 years of FUSE events, Enzo Siragusa unveils his second album of 2019; A Decade Of Rave Volume 2.

Volume 1 (released in April 2019) exhibited 10 solo tracks from Enzo that meandered through his 10-year journey at the helm of FUSE.

Volume 2 brings in the four members who have remained at the core of FUSE history; Rich Nxt, Seb Zito, Rossko and Archie Hamilton, each collaborating with Enzo to create seven straight-talking dance floor cuts that have fuelled FUSE parties, capturing the essence and development of the “FUSE sound” over the last decade.
This is the first time FUSE fans will see all five work together on one release and is a testament to the watertight friendships they have built. Rich Nxt and Seb Zito were by Enzo’s side at the very first FUSE party back in 2008, while Rossko and Archie Hamilton climbed the ranks up to the booth from the dance floor, starting as fanatic weekly ravers of the party.

Enzo and Rich Nxt set the tone for the batch of euphonic collaborations that follow, starting with ‘See you In Ten’ and the straight up grooves of ‘Enriched’. Rossko cuts in second to bring us the engagingly propulsive ‘Dreamers’. Archie Hamilton takes a deeper direction with ‘Aviva’ and ‘Direct Line’. Finally, Seb Zito kicks the gear back up weaving garage influenced elements into ‘What’s Going On’ and closing with low slung ‘What’s Happening’. All tracks testifying to each resident’s deftness in creating atmospheric gems with the mastermind behind FUSE.
