The rainbow has been followed by legends and myths, where the rainbow ends there is a treasure, or something else valuable, but it has also been interpreted in different ways, examples below.

The rainbow is a natural phenomenon that has always fascinated humans. In Swedish folk records it has many names: sky rainbow, weather rainbow, water rainbow, storm rainbow and God's rainbow, to name a few. When you did not really see the whole rainbow, but only part of it, it could be called "sour rainbow".

In Norse mythology, the rainbow has a special function. There it is called Bifrost and is a bridge between the world of humans and the gods. The bridge is guarded by the god Heimdall, who ensures that giants and other enemies do not gain access. At Ragnarök, the end of the world, the bridge will break so that the connection between the two worlds is broken.
The connections to Asatruism found their way into folk beliefs to some extent. Sometimes the rainbow was thought to have been erected by the “old gods” — they set it up when they went out riding! 

The Christian Bible gives a different explanation for the origin of the rainbow: it is a sign of a covenant between God and man. In ancient times, it was therefore common to regard the rainbow as a sacred symbol that must be shown reverence. Pointing at it was forbidden — then the finger could start to ache, be attacked by worms or rot away. 
You could also get warts on the pointing hand. Throwing or shooting something at the rainbow could have even worse consequences. Anyone who fired a shot with a gun aimed at the rainbow could go blind, and if you threw your fishing rod at it, you would lose your fishing luck. 

You should also not make a noise when the rainbow was seen, because then you would make the angels in heaven sad. Another expression of the sacredness of the rainbow was that one was not allowed to try to imitate its stripes when weaving—one who wove in the colors of the rainbow could become forgetful, colorblind, or even die.

Where the Rainbow Ends

More and more violence is increasing, atrocities and an ever-increasing desire for power are spreading like wildfire on earth. Countries that previously fought for democracy
are changing direction and becoming increasingly nationalistic, increasingly focused on themselves, long-standing partnerships are being broken. Increasingly more desire for land and influence.
