Foolish Pleasure

Following “Slow Song,” her hit 2022 collab with the Knocks, Dragonette and the future funk duo are set to release an album’s worth of joint efforts. Dragonette (real name Martina Sorbara) has been making well-crafted dance-pop for years now, working with Basement Jaxx and Kaskade and sharing stages with legends like Duran Duran and New Order. “Slow Song” was a “pandemic baby,” says the Canadian singer, written when she and the Knocks — like all other recording artists — were trying to learn how to work remotely together. Their recent single “Foolish Pleasure” went through all kinds of revisions, she says, until she came across a social  media post that inspired the title.
