Cute amusing short game soundtrack made during Ludum Dare 39. The game was so weird, it was never submitted to the jam. The sounds are from the legendary Roland Canvas.

I just discovered that a lot of game music from the past have used sounds from the Roland Canvas. Not high quality, neither low quality; it sits in a weird area where these sounds oddly fit very well in certain types of arts styles such as low polygon or simple models, certain retro art, or just simplistic art. A lot of Nintendo (Wii, Gamecube) soundtracks come to mind. After comparing these sound to the music in Wind Waker, and seeing that Koji Kondo has one in his studio, it seems like it was heavily used as a quick and dirty access to sounds in a short development time.

We Shall Not Fall! (Epic Orchestral)

This is a reorchestrated instrumental version of "This Day Aria" from My Little Pony by Daniel Ingram.

There are a few differences from the original orchestration and mine, including additional melodies, changing a few rhythms, reassigning orchestral parts to play the vocal lines, and general guesses to the actual melodies, harmonies, and orchestration.

This piece is from the short film "Agent Provocateur" by Sophie Wiesner for AFTRS. The score adapts a Croatian song "Još Hrvatska ni propala" by Ferdo Livadić which is heard throughout the short film to identify with Croatian nationalism.

Horizon (3xOsc Mix)

Here's my latest orchestral piece. It's the most melodic piece I've written, and the most difficult to sequence so far.

I originally composed the piece in 2018 but didn't have the skills to finish the orchestration, nor was my computer powerful enough to handle this many samples. Even today, the orchestration was really tough and hard to figure out, and I'm still not sure if it's entirely correct. The samples don't quite do the piece justice, so hopefully there will be an opportunity many years from now to actually perform it live someday.

Farewell To An Adventure

My reorchestrated instrumental of "Celestia's Ballad" originally by Daniel Ingram.

There are slight changes to the original apart from the obvious. The piano line has been slightly altered, I did not include the glockenspiel, nor any wind chimes. I have added additional instruments and melodic lines, especially in the climax. I have also added an extra chord at the very end.

Celestia's Ballad (Reorchestrated Instrumental)

Available on itunes/beatport. My most experimental trance track at the time. It featured quiet a lot of sound design, especially noticeable in the transitions between each section. The intro was inspired by Arksun - Arisen who first started off with ambience, instead of the usual way. The breakdown is quiet unique, featuring a glockenspiel. The climax features a lead synth line, then followed by a somewhat improvised piano melody. The "wah-wah" effect you hear at the end of the climax was a formant filter, hence it sounded vocalistic, and somewhat creepy. Of course, at the time, chopping up vocal lines was a common technique as well.
