Straight out of the saltiest streams
comes a duo of thundering dark techno
tracks that will make even the most
ingrained forest troll shake the moss
from its rear end! The associations of
frothy spirals, rain-sprayed moss and
fungi on bark heavily spiced by the sea's
own salt are prominent. Before you know
it you are thrown into the dance, not
knowing if you are still on the floor or if
you have strayed into the fjord.
The name Schiist is a misspelling of the
metamorphic rock Schist. The same goes
for the song titles on Borra: they are
variations of old local names from Salten.
The photo that accompanies the release is
of an orchid that grows locally and was
taken in Tverlandet, Bodø. It is called
Ophrys insectifera or Fly blossom. It has
evolved to mimic various insects in order to
transmit pollen and is one of several orchids
found in the district.
The release is inspired by currents, change
and adaptation. The songs fit well as
musical metaphors for the hometown. The
songs are not made with this in mind, but
are written with a view of Saltstraumen,
Børa and Saltfjorden.

TranScience is, as the name alludes to, a transcendent experience and a study in the science of trance states. What begins as a mere blip unfolds into a dissection of modern dance music, interspersed with the tribalistic musical roots of the ancient peoples of the world. The record aims to demonstrate the whisper-thin border between the ultra modern and the disappearlingly old, while still maintaining a thread that links it inexorably to movements in contemporary avant garde electronic music. 

As an album, it is best enjoyed in its entirety, from start to finish. This is a journey with specific beats that will draw you into its intimidating universe. Your mind will process it best if in a state of centered calm or in a higher state of consciousness. 

Please enjoy this presentation of the dark recesses of your own psyche.

His later work is heavier, darker and more related to the traditional monotony present in many of his influences. DUBMANNEN cometh! And  he has tuned his deep dub sounds to the point of perfection.

Jeg trodde dette var en mashup! Beaten, eller riddimen om du vil, var så fet (no disrespect). Så feil kan man ta. De fleste som kjenner Joddski kjenner Torsha som mannen bak beaten til “Laisa Det Opp”. Han har også jobba med blant andre Jabaman, og har masse nye ting på gang. Bamsefar er også kjent som primus motor bak Bodø Dubstep, og er så vidt jeg veit rimelig fersk i produksjonsgamet. Uansett feeeeett. Vaagsbygd sine vers er egentlig fra en annen remix, som jeg og er med på… Jeg trenger vel ikke fortelle dere at Vaagsbygd Handy er noen av Norges mest slept-on rappere? Buddy Pitch Dubstep Mixtape 01

Floora was born when DJ Truls Puls and DJ NuTeQ played a local festival in hometown Bodø, way up north in Norway some 5 years ago. The gig was a 4 deck performance on request by Nordland Musikkfestuke.
The little town above the artic circle in the north of Norway has seen many highly skilled dj's the last years. In this rather small city a surprisingly high number of souls were picking up on the latest hip hop. By far a strange phenomenon. The cultural vacuum provided by original channels made way for local heads to connect with the new and growing hiphop movement. Local pioneers were of course an inspiration of many young hopeful jocks including the young Truls Andersen and Øystein Bekken.
The musical concept that is Floora today was developed further when they both moved to Bergen early'99. They recorded a mixtape by using 4 decks simultaneously. This tape found it`s way to the british DJ magazine XFADE (now called iDJ). The mix won the bedroom DJ competition in may'00, although the competiton was an exclusive for british DJ`s. XFADE’s review of the tape is a total brag (see press section) and provided the breakthrough Floora needed. The duo had not actually played one single gig prior to this review.
The very essence of the Floora project lies in showing the audience certain links between whatever kinds of music. Floora work their liveshows combining all the styles of mixing that they know, progressing through a lot of cross-genres in service of making it all one massive piece of music. It is some kind of a musical and historical journey. One of the techniques they are known to use is the simple trick of putting things on top of other things. It could be described as a sort of live-remixing. As well as smooth beatmatching and beats + pieces type of mixing they have a couple of cutting edge trixteries up their trousers. Their style has often been commented as quite coldcutish with a solid dose of scratching and turntablism on top...

This is the legendary mix made by Floora in 1999 using 4 decks and crappy mixers. The whole session was recorded on a minidisc player and led the duo to an 8 rcords deal with EMI. The Floora mix was never released due to licensing hell. Hehehe:) seems like majors went out of style appr. at the same time as minidiscs. Enjoy!

Draug Media startet opp rundt 2011 og har nærmere 40 utgivelser som spenner om sjangre som bl.a techno, hip hop, house, drum and bass og electrojazz for å nevne noen.

Draug har også arrangert en rekke klubbarrangementer og nylig en serie "Pop up raves" på oppdrag fra Bodø2024.
