The title track Orbis Unum opens the journey with a restrained yet immersive energy, marked by atmospheric synths and a slow but steady melodic progression. Melting Walls follows with a more emotional tone, blending harmonic layers with a solid groove, enriched by subtle organic and tribal elements. Ruben Karapetyan’s remix of the same track delivers a more intense and energetic version, striking a perfect balance between synthetic and organic sounds, and enhancing the mystical and ancestral character of the original. The EP closes with Witchcraft, a track that incorporates Afro House elements, standing out through its piano chords, tribal vocals, and ritualistic rhythms.

Air Texture proudly announces its latest artist-curated compilation, "Hardwired," assembled by Berlin-based musician JakoJako. This expansive collection celebrates the implicit connection between hardware-focused electronic producers, featuring contributions from Rødhåd, Acid Pauli, The Field, Neon Chambers, and many more.

"Hardwired" draws its conceptual foundation from synthesizer terminology. As JakoJako explains: "A hardwired synth has connections already soldered into the machine—it comes with certain functions without needing to patch cables externally. As a hardware producer, I feel whenever I meet someone who creates music as I do, we have this immediate connection, like a hardwired synthesizer. There's no need for small talk—we can speak about gear."

This metaphor of pre-established connections forms the emotional core of the compilation, celebrating the community of hardware enthusiasts who share an intuitive understanding and appreciation for machine-based music creation.

JakoJako has established herself as one of electronic music's most intriguing voices, exploring the territory between technical precision and emotional expression. Her artistic approach balances rigorous knowledge with unrestrained intuition, creating works that reach beyond genre boundaries.

A Berghain resident with performances at Dekmantel and Fusion, to the Royal Albert Hall and the Barbican, JakoJako has released music on prestigious labels including Tresor, Mute, and Leisure System, and crafted remixes for artists like New Order and Martin Gore. Her deep relationship with analog and modular synthesis, including her ongoing connection to Berlin's SchneidersLaden, informs her distinctive sound.

Following her recent Mute album "Têt 41," this curation for Air Texture provides further insight into the musical universe that has shaped JakoJako's artistic vision.

"Hardwired" showcases 23 tracks for its digital release, with a select 9 tracks pressed to vinyl. The collection spans the spectrum of contemporary electronic music while maintaining cohesive focus on hardware-driven production approaches.

Highlights include collaborative works between JakoJako and fellow producers Mareena and Frank Wiedemann, alongside contributions from established artists like Rødhåd, Acid Pauli, and The Field, plus emerging talents representing the hardware renaissance in electronic music.

Founded by James Parker Healy, Air Texture emerged from New York City's late '90s rave scene, carrying forward the fundamental PLUR (Peace, Love, Unity, Respect) ethos with a collaborative and curatorial focus. The label has evolved from its roots in Manhattan's club era and Brooklyn's warehouse scene to embrace a global perspective, working with producers across diverse styles and regions worldwide.

GCOD is an emerging electronic music artist from Zürich, Switzerland, known for his distinctive sound, through which he has been able to establish himself as one of Zürich’s promising upcoming talents. With releases on labels like Bipolar Disorder Records, Grab the Groove and Ri7mo, he has been steadily carving out his own space in the international electronic music scene since his first release at the start of 2023.

Behind the decks, GCOD has honed his skills at renowned venues like Exil, Hive and Elysia, while also taking his sound abroad, including a stint in Tokyo during the summer of 2023. 

Beyond his solo work, GCOD is a core member of ZIMA Blue, Zürich’s infamous DJ trio celebrated for their electrifying performances and unique dynamic.

I am glad to finally share this new vinyl with you all, coming from my deeper emotional side.

This is a tribute & was made during a place of sadness & grief for two amazing humans we lost last years, Rob Maguire on 18 december 2023 & Léa-Rose Besson aka Radical Softness on 14 February 2024.

They were the most unconditonnal loving persons I ever met, sharing love, breathing love, teaching us so much about being better everydays, leaving us as their mission on Earth were completed.

Still, the ones who stay, stand still. With only our memories to remember their souls, being infused by their aura of life forever. Its from those people when you feel instantly good around, making you feel confortable, loving yourself more, accepting yourself & being vulnerable while powerful.

From all over the world and especially in Berlin, many of us where impacted so much by their kindness and souls, offering us a space to be heard & seen, when so many of us couldn't. We all know that it was such a priviledge to knew them & shared wisdom with and timeless experiences, being kids around old souls, teaching us how to love beyond time & space.

Its from this place that most of the tracks of this EP were created, fighting for resilience through dark times. I felt the need to make them this tribute while healing from pain to find love in myself and others. Being grateful for everything that happens in life even if it never last.

Gaman, from the japanese means, perseverance. That illustrate never giving up on ourselves, our dreams, our life, keep shining one day after the other, because being alive is the most unique priviledge we will ever have.

While everything is temporary, music still belong, making them heard a little bit longer through vibrations.

My dear Rob, my dear Lea, may you rest in peace, may we see us again in another realm. We love you.
