Mysterious Waters

This is the original soundtrack for the video game True Friends (https://golemstudios.itch.io/true-friends) created for the Pencil, Chisel, Code! game jam. The two level cues have eight tracks that build throughout the repetitions of the cue featured here. In the game, the layers activate depending on how many friends you have acquired (eight in all).

This is my first complete orchestra piece. It is based off of a 12-tone row that is harmonized, and this progression provides the sectional harmonic foundation for this work.

Brent is a theorist, guitarist, and composer from Texas. Like many others of this generation of composers, video game music was a motivator to get into music composition. Brent recently completed his Ph.D. in music theory and composition at the University of Kansas. He is a Lecturer of Games Sound and Music at Brunel University London
