In the distance the sound of sirens roared through the night. The city was tossing and turning under the weight of he heat and the sky glowed a strange fruity shade of deep pink. Palm trees blew back and forth by the beach, they were taking in the last of the summer sun for soon it would be cold and dark. On the sand people gathered to watch the waves roll slowly in against the bay. Boats bobbed upon their great depth as the shouting began. 

Zen In Space is set to release a new EP on Moonshoe Records, his debut appearance on the up and coming record label. An imaginative and sun kissed deep groove.

Long serving Chemical Brothers tour DJ, Begin, has been tasked with bottling up the essence of the festival, and in the process has produced a mix of sun-drenched synths, golden pianos and lush textures that wash over you like the waves on the Adriatic Coast.

Glasgow’s Ali Herron has long been a mark of quality with his OOFT! moniker. Originally running the L.E.S.S. Productions imprint alongside The Revenge, with excursions onto labels such as Instruments of Rapture, Delusions of Grandeur and Wolf Music Ali’s steady stream of solid output moves deftly between slo-mo disco and classic house sounds. It’s the latter style that infects his Clandestino EP. Rich, lush Detroit flecked textures, sun dappled reflective cuts and soaring emotive house music all combine for a wonderfully warm EP fit for an array of moods. Clandestino don their night and day hats with their remixes, turning out both a slightly more energised take and a blissed out version respectively.

"The next release on Periodica Records sees the label reaching outside of its familiar roster to present the equatorial groove excursions of Parbleu. ‘Danse Cette Zik’ is the debut LP from this enigmatic group of musicians and is a multi-cultural fever dream, wherein energized expanses of dynamic disco, futuristic funk, and cinematic jazz fusion are colored over by warming vibes of Caribbean dub, Latin tropicalia, and sunshine Afrobeat. Evocative instrumentals intertwine with breathtaking vocal performances, which move between sleepy-eyed soul serenades, mystical melodic chants, and expressive diva enchantments while pads swell in support—sometimes sparkling like ocean glass, other times raining down like a Morricone symphony. Pianos and guitars converse via funk flourishes, reggae riffs, and jazz rock solos as blazing fusion synthesizers set the air aflame. Drums move between kinetic dancefloor urgency and islander rhythm relaxation and hand percussions both organic and electronic evoke rainforest ceremonials while basslines revel in 70s fusion fire and Italo synth-funk squelch. And the entire experience has been expertly captured and magically crafted by the sorcerers of sound at the West Hill Studio, resulting in a thrilling adventure of imagined exotica, one equally adept at scoring coastal paradises, filmic deserts, riviera cruises, or nightclubs sweltering in the light of a mediterranean moon."
