One of the first people Elie Eidelman asked for music from when he founded JackOff Records was Massimiliano Pagliara.
It’s hard not to be a fan.
Now three years later finally it happens with Massi’s project with production partner ROTCIV under the name ‘The Rimshooters’.

This EP consists of two original trax. First one is titled ‘Love Lie Love Die’ which is a deep and dark Acid journey.

‘Love Lie Love Die’ is remixed by long time label supporters ‘Dance Disorder’. With a more old school flavor and uplifting Electro vibe, the remix was already tested on leading dancefloors in Europe with massive response.

‘Padorama’ was born out of a Jam that Massimiliano did with nd_baumecker back in the day, and re-worked by ‘The Rimshooters’ to this Dance Floor killer it is today.

The sun is setting an hour earlier and chilly evenings spent in front of the fire are replacing afternoon barbecues and poolside adventures. The windows can stay down in the car but the heat stays blasting to fight the first gripping tendrils of winter. The fall is beautiful though, and it has always been a time for introspection and looking to the past and future. I've been thinking a lot about everything that's happening and I sort of think that this mix of songs reflects that. Melancholy and nostalgia aren't unfamiliar partners to ride with, but they sure feel good to cuddle up with when its cold outside and you're lying in bed with your headphones on thinking about somewhere a little warmer.  

I really want to thank all of the artists that made the music included in the mix. I fall in love with this shit every single day and hopefully this can lead some people your way.  See below for the full tracklist including time signatures, and then go check out their music!

This was recorded live at my monthly 'Keep It Unreal' residency in Manchester, plying mostly vinyl with a couple of cds thrown in there too. The venue at the time was the Music Box, a sweaty, dark basement, which is now a Tesco. Listening back, I can feel the atmosphere, the heat, and a room full of lovely people enjoying the music. Now that same room is full of stock assistants & chilled celery. Oh well! We have since moved the night to Band on the Wall, and will be celebrating the 15th year of Keep it Unreal in June 2014.

Goldroom - Autunno Mix 2012 for Triple J

Brooklyn resident Vandervolgen is one of those DJs and producers who seem synonymous with New York City, brandishing a stellar discography that holds credits for labels such as Golf Channel, DFA, Throne Of Blood, Eric Duncan's Keep It Cheap and ESP Institute. There's always some special about the end product of a Vandervolgen studio session, be it his Try To Find Me releases for Phil South's perennially on point Golf Channel, his work as TBD alongside long time compadre Lee Douglas or the numerous remixes and edits that have appeared intermittently over the years - last year's Soft Rocks effort being a strong favourite in the Juno Plus office.

No doubt informed by his tutelage in the iconic late nighties disco punk acts Outhud and !!!, there's always been a rough and deadly feel to a production from Justin Vandervolgen; his brutally primal and propulsive 2010 Golf Channel production "Clapping Song" or the deranged thump of TBD's DFA 12" Oh My. It's releases like these that ensure anyone who dismisses Vandervolgen as merely "another disco edit producer" should do so at their peril. There's evidently a wide knowledge and understanding of dance music that shines through in his output, and translates to his DJ sets with his mix for our podcast series peppered with unknown cross genre gems mixed in a seamless fashion.

Next month sees Vandervolgen embark on a mini tour of Europe (dates at the bottom) amid whispers of him starting a new label; Justin was kind enough to chat about this and more in answers to some questions we jettisoned across the Atlantic which you can check here:

Our first Dimensions mix comes in the shape of an exclusive selection from Detroit rising star Jay Daniel. The Kyle Hall collaborator is one of the most exciting DJs to emerge in recent years, providing one of our favourite Boiler Room sessions of last year. 

He has exclusively delivered us a deep down and soulful mix in preparation for his much anticipated set at this summer’s Dimensions Festival. 

This mix is the first in our new series, where we will showcase the flavours of sounds explored at Dimensions through exclusive mixes from artists playing at the festival.

We will let the mix do the talking but be sure to check his mother (Naomi Daniel, is the voice behind Planet-E classics' "Stars" and "Feel the Fire,") on vocals the third track in!
