Words cannot sufficiently convey how incredibly honoured I feel to have played at my favourite festival this past weekend. 🐉

It was such a beautiful weekend overflowing with cathartic release, a chance to escape reality, and the opportunity to connect with a multitude of extraordinary souls, both familiar and new.

Stepping away from the confines of ordinary life and into a playground full of vibrant, creative and joyous beings was truly heart-filling.

I extend my heartfelt gratitude to those who embraced the late-night chill, allowing me to guide them on a journey in the wee hours of Sunday morning. It was a very humbling experience to create a space for connection and be present with all of you.

This set holds a profound significance in my heart, not solely for gracing my favourite festival's stage but also for the deliberate curation that went into its creation. It serves as a poignant depiction of the myriad emotions I've traversed in the past year — joy, grief, tension, self-reflection, euphoria, and contemplation. Presenting this set became an emotionally charged and profoundly cathartic voyage of healing for me.

Big love to everyone involved with Dragon Dreaming and to all the souls I was fortunate enough to share space with throughout this magical weekend. ❤️‍🔥

A week after Basscamp 2023, and my heart is still brimming with the  energy of that  weekend. I have boundless gratitude to Darcy, Atlanta, and the entire Enigmatic Industries team for making this years Basscamp one that will never be forgotten. This year, they've truly outdone themselves, and it's as if the benevolent deities above have showered us all with their  blessings, painting our days with sunshine and our nights with shimmering stars.

Absolutely incredible weekend with so many bloody awesome humans. I had the joy of meeting countless individuals who had been my "online DJ mates" for some time, rekindling connections with dear old friends, and weaving new friendships that seem as vast as the cosmos itself. It was a weekend filled with electrifying music, laughing til it hurts, and endless banter - a true treasure worth falling over for time and time again (I have so many bruises).

Finally uploading my set to Soundcloud, a gift for those who missed it, a sweet memory for those who wish to relive it, and a harmonious journey for all those in between.

My heart is full of love for the extended Basscamp family, and I can't wait to reunite with each and every one of you. Until then, may your lives be filled with joy and bass so sick it makes you spew!

Deliverance 2023

An alchemist of voyages steeped in deep, rolling basslines, euphoric sweetness and bone-rattling jungle beats, Dread Maiden takes inspiration for her aural journeys from her love of the ebb and flow of progressive metal, psychedelic rock journey music, and a deep love for dub and drum and bass, with the goal to manifest jungle and drum and bass mixes with an eclectic concoction of light and dark, high and lows.

Originally from Cowra in country NSW AU and now residing in Mulubinba (Newcastle AU), she has a background in acoustic music and production and has been an avid supporter of the Australian drum and bass community for years before turning her focus to mixing, creating aural adventures, blending jungle, techy, dark minimal, half-time and liquid drum and bass amongst a wide spectrum of other bassy sub-genres.

Dread Maiden co-hosted Eora-based (Sydney AU) Orbital Radio show, Cabin Fever Sessions from late 2021 until early 2023 (when Orbital Radio closed its doors), is a resident DJ for Eora's Cabin Fever Crew frequently playing at Eora venues and is the creative director of Newy Bass Crew in Mulubinba.

She has featured on Bristol's Goat Shed Radio show, The Down Underground, and has had several feature guest mixes on various radio and streaming platforms, including Australia's 2SER's Time To Track, Clitoverse and Rave Government, Adelaide’s The Ones and Twos on Fresh 92.7, Cairn’s The Drum & Bass Show and New Zealand's Fruit Blender.

She has played at some amazing parties in Eora and Mulubinba hosted by Newy Bass Crew, Cabin Fever Crew, Dekonstructed, Higher Ground, Deep Space Entertainment, Haunted Science, Rave Cave, Lowfreq, Daydreaming, 404's Chikara Bass, Powder Your Nose, What Were You Wearing, Rhythm At Dusk and Shenanigans, as well as Naarm’s (Melbourne AU)'s DNB Mondays and Meeanjin’s (Brisbane AU) Renegade Playground.

She has shared the stage as support for Brazil’s Jam Thieves and Shapless, the UK’s Serial Killaz, Dillinja, Ben Soundscape & Collette Warren and KOAN Sound, and New Zealand's Paige Julia.

Dread Maiden has also proven her prowess on the doof and festival circuit playing at Australia’s Dragon Dreaming Festival, Basscamp, Subsonic Festival, Zenith Gathering, Ipso Facto and Rain Dance Festival alongside some of Australia and the worlds best underground acts in drum and bass, psytrance, techno and more.
