Bo.Bella, hailing from Mulubinba (Newcastle, Australia), embarked on her musical journey in 2019 after years of tending bar in the vibrant club scene. Her exposure to exceptional music every weekend proved instrumental in shaping her unique sound.

Renowned as the Queen of all things house, Bo.Bella has taken a dive deep into the drum and bass scene, infusing her sets with a blend of dark and light tracks that add a spicy allure. Her musical prowess extends beyond the DJ booth; she is best known for fostering emerging talents through her weekly Open Decks at The Lass O'Gowrie Hotel in Mulubinba. She also helped pioneer the all-female DJ collective, Powder Your Nose, formed one half of the Mulubinba duo, Someone's Friends and heralds Barefoot Beats.

Bo.Bella has held the position of resident DJ at Finnegan's Hotel in Mulubinba since 2019, consistently delivering electrifying performances. Her name has become synonymous with the local music scene, gracing line-ups for events like Cooked Memories, Shenanigans, Rhythm At Dusk, Cruiser Nightclub, Chance Saturday's and major Australian festivals such as Groovin the Moo and This That. She's also played on support of Tigerlily, JPEG and Tay-G.

In December 2021, she showcased her skills on Bondi Beach Radio, engaging in a B2B set with Chevron. Catch her on the weekends at Finnegens Hotel where she’s been a resident dj since 2019 and continues to leave her mark on the Mulubinba music landscape.

Last week's Sunday marked the end of the Month, which means we were having over a member of the Flux/x community again for their Mix/xed by Flux/x show.

And for this episode, Leiden based techy dnb connoisseur Flexusz took the lead in hosting the live stream. She did not step into the booth on her own though, because she invited Amsterdam based DJ Marise van Noordenne, aka: MΛN!

MΛN is making waves in recent years playing the more dark and "obscure" kind of drum and bass and jungle flavours for a variety of events and platforms like DNBRADIO.com, Inversion, Curated By, Goat Shed, Vortex, Tribe and many more.

An alchemist of voyages steeped in deep, rolling basslines, euphoric sweetness and bone-rattling jungle beats, Dread Maiden takes inspiration for her aural journeys from her love of the ebb and flow of progressive metal, psychedelic rock journey music, and a deep love for dub and drum and bass, with the goal to manifest jungle and drum and bass mixes with an eclectic concoction of light and dark, high and lows.

Originally from Cowra in country NSW AU and now residing in Mulubinba (Newcastle AU), she has a background in acoustic music and production and has been an avid supporter of the Australian drum and bass community for years before turning her focus to mixing, creating aural adventures, blending jungle, techy, dark minimal, half-time and liquid drum and bass amongst a wide spectrum of other bassy sub-genres.

Dread Maiden co-hosted Eora-based (Sydney AU) Orbital Radio show, Cabin Fever Sessions from late 2021 until early 2023 (when Orbital Radio closed its doors), is a resident DJ for Eora's Cabin Fever Crew frequently playing at Eora venues and is the creative director of Newy Bass Crew in Mulubinba.

She has featured on Bristol's Goat Shed Radio show, The Down Underground, and has had several feature guest mixes on various radio and streaming platforms, including Australia's 2SER's Time To Track, Clitoverse and Rave Government, Adelaide’s The Ones and Twos on Fresh 92.7, Cairn’s The Drum & Bass Show and New Zealand's Fruit Blender.

She has played at some amazing parties in Eora and Mulubinba hosted by Newy Bass Crew, Cabin Fever Crew, Dekonstructed, Higher Ground, Deep Space Entertainment, Haunted Science, Rave Cave, Lowfreq, Daydreaming, 404's Chikara Bass, Powder Your Nose, What Were You Wearing, Rhythm At Dusk and Shenanigans, as well as Naarm’s (Melbourne AU)'s DNB Mondays and Meeanjin’s (Brisbane AU) Renegade Playground.

She has shared the stage as support for Brazil’s Jam Thieves and Shapless, the UK’s Serial Killaz, Dillinja, Ben Soundscape & Collette Warren and KOAN Sound, and New Zealand's Paige Julia.

Dread Maiden has also proven her prowess on the doof and festival circuit playing at Australia’s Dragon Dreaming Festival, Basscamp, Subsonic Festival, Zenith Gathering, Ipso Facto and Rain Dance Festival alongside some of Australia and the worlds best underground acts in drum and bass, psytrance, techno and more.
