On January 21st, 2023, over 300 musicians and visual artists challenged themselves to create something in only 18 hours. Visual artists had to create a unique album cover & its supporting graphics, and musicians were limited to no less than 50 seconds and no more than 70 seconds for their songs; in short, a speedrun. The event encouraged creatives to think outside the box, picking their ideas apart in order to keep only the essentials. At the finish line, we received some of the most exciting tracks on a FORM compilation to date.

In the colors of each album cover and between the notes of each song are reflections of us— the artists. To leave pieces of ourselves *out* in lieu of a time constraint isn't easy, but it allows us to conclude what's at the center of what we create. Creativity, no matter how bare-bones or how complex & nuanced it is, is something nobody can ever take away.

All proceeds from any% will be going to SpecialEffect, a charity working to make video games accessible to those with physical disabilities.

it's been a crazy year. 

flutter was the first piece i wrote after moving out , assisted by the lovely soundcloud.com/achorda. since then, i've had to deal with a lot of transition, but i think finally i can say i've found my home here. this song has stuck with me since i got here. despite it not sounding entirely like what i make anymore, i think i can finally let it shine before we get into whatever my next era as aephyn is <3

LYRICS:
Something I love about the show is just the constant symbolism between Blitzo and the Moon. Compared to Stolas and the Earth, both are just satellites, nowhere near as important as a Goetia demon and member of Hell's Royalty or a planet filled with life where beauty and wonder can happen at every corner. And yet, without them, neither of them really can thrive at all.

Stolas is just as fascinated and dependent of Blitzo as the Earth is with the Moon. Without the Moon, there's no tides; it brings inspiration and romance to countless souls, brightening the night sky, just like Blitzo brightens Stolas' life. Blitzo is Stolas' moon, and I just think that's beautiful. Even with all the bumps their relationship has, you never know what to expect next. That's what I love about them.

It's just strange how something such as excitement is usually seen as unbecoming of a Goetia.

From August 10th to August 11th, 2024, over 1,000 creatives woke up early, clocked out of work, gathered with friends, and prepared for the 24-hour challenge to come. As submissions roll in, the day passes in the blink of an eye. Musicians put their final touches on their songs, passing around the master file for one final polish from all collaborators. Visual artists eagerly await for the few final minutes of their render to pass with no issues. All participants take one big, deep breath as they upload their files and hit "Submit". Out of 562 music submissions and 71 art submissions, 45 shining tracks and one cover design were selected and organized with care into one final album. It captures a glimpse of the evolving creativity not just of our community, but of creatives everywhere.

First and foremost, All Nighter is about joy; the payoff is well worth it, but the purpose is in the process. It's so much more than making a song or cover art with a friend—it's human connection. It's learning how to push yourself beyond your creative limits. It's taking pride in your hard work. It's meeting new people who happen to love the same musicians and artists as you. Creating what makes you happy is a joy that keeps the wheels of creativity turning; we all owe it to ourselves to love what we make, and make what we love.

All proceeds from All Nighter, Vol. 9 will be donated to the National Alliance for Eating Disorders, a charity that provides referrals, education, and support to individuals experiencing eating disorders and their loved ones.
