Dream Diary’s Single’s Club fourth release see’s DD’s own head of A&R turn his first offering for this new series. Alex is a classically trained multi genre producer, instrumentalist and seasoned DJ who helps DD carefully nurture and develop artists for the label. 2020 saw his debut release “First Relic” under his new moniker Alex Klein drop on Submit records which gathered notable support from Ame, Richie Hawtin and Sasha, the latter of which featured a track in his April ReConnect set for Beatport.

This slice of deep brooding dub bass and soulful vocals sees Alex step away a little from his long-form detailed weaving techno and deliver a more minimal lo-fi club focused anthem. Split into A/B format, the exposition presents a soulful re-pitched vocal supported by a big sub bass line and moody chord progressions. This transitions into the B section where the bass takes hold of the melody as analog hats drive us forward. This structure is then repeated again with the intensity continuing to grow throughout.

His detailed approach to sound design can be heard in his background and harmonic textures whilst his love for analog drum machines keeps the tracks momentum flowing. With more releases lined up for the coming year including collaborations with long time production compainion Lawrence Hart it seems Alex is on an exciting
trajectory.

Edvin Wikner, head chef and local marathon dancer, serves us an original production accompanied by a collaboration with Malmo-based Per Hammer. Trauma Tribe celebrates their shared love of extended morning sets—a passion ultimately manifested at Emmabodafestivalen two years ago when they broke Sweden’s record of the longest DJ set to date, playing for 24 hours straight.

Specimen Records continue their exploration into the deeper reaches of electro with an EP from Berlin based Richard Easel, featuring remixes from close collaborators Datawave and Federico Leocata.

The EP comprises of 3 distinct styles in one release, Easel with intricate sublimation and experimental modular sounds of the Buchala. Datawave’s remix of Exterreri, with his trademark spatial depth charged electro and Federico Leocata with his unique funky-minimal approach, which renders his darkly mysterious sound unlike Metaphysix underpinning a sound suited to Specimen.

Richard Easel is the electro project of Berlin-based DJ and producer and Italian born Riccardo Sbardella. He derives his sense of style out of the various IDM and Hip Hop projects he has created throughout his production journey. Richard Easel is an artistic endeavour that serves as an outlet for his own interpretation of Electro. The word Easel comes from Buchla Music Easel, as a tribute to his passion for modular synthesisers, and especially for West Coast Synthesis.

One of Europe's key figures in the drum and bass music scene of the 2000s - @Sunchase - returns with his long-awaited album on Kashtan, a newly launched label from Ukraine, on 1st of December 2020.

Sunchase had numerous singles on such cult labels like Moving Shadow, Metalheadz and Hospital Records and after 10 years he finally returns to the LP format. His second album 'Timeline', just like the concept of the label, blurs the boundaries between genres of electronic music, and cannot be assigned to any particular style. The melancholic and abstract sounds give off a sense of reclusiveness, with dubstep and drum and bass rhythms peeking and sometimes breaking through to the surface, yet more often they go deeper, creating room for bass music, dub and even a slight touch of IDM, thus creating a very special state. The album as a whole appears as a voluminous, complete, and aesthetically established piece of work.

The releases of Kashtan will be executed in a rather unusual format: it will be a limited series of collectible packs, including a USB stick with music and additional multimedia content, as well as other materials. These packs can later be collected into a catalog. Also, the LP will be released digitally on Kashtan's Bandcamp page and all other known online stores.
