Man y’all... last night I lost someone who meant a lot to me. People have mentors... back in the early 2000s this man taught me everything from instruments to engineering- he is why I never conformed to trends, took recording serious, and had an open mind to production and styles... he was also cool with my parents and was the first to actually believe in my music and abilities. He was supportive, funny and I learned so much. He said “just play the bass” Or just “play the keys” knowing I wasn’t trained... Damn man I was gonna visit him this yr when I came back to Chicago... Rest in Heaven sir Garry Marthaler of Blue Heron Recording Studios... the 1st studio I ever recorded at - Enjoy this unreleased joint!!!!
