Back in 2019, my parents gifted me their old VHS camera and I took it to the woods near the village where I grew up to try it out for the first time. I digitalised the tape a couple of weeks ago and really liked the footage, so I watched it in a loop on one side of the screen while producing beats on the other, and this little tape came out within just a couple of hours.

I kept it very minimal, only sampling recordings of me playing my vibraphone along with adding a simple drum line and a few bass notes. It was very enjoyable for me to go back to making beats in a much more simple way like I used to around 5 years ago, and the meditative & introspective vibe of the music blends really well with those amateur documentary-style visuals.

03. What Child Is This (Celtic Folk Jazz Version)

🧬 La Radice del Sound — Log 0x1999

We call it the root of sound — not because it’s pure, but because it’s where it all began.
Back in 1999, before plugins had souls and synths had GUIs, we were already hacking sound.
No DAWs. No presets. Just raw bash scripts emulating synths, bending waveforms like broken mirrors.
We weren’t producers. We were terminal shamans, writing loops in ASCII, glitching silence into rhythm.

🎛️ Our path was never linear. It was a hybrid ritual — half hacker, half musician,
a communion between code and chaos, between the machine and the myth.
We didn’t compose. We summoned.

This album presents some of our earliest steps into the LOFI dimension —
not as a genre, but as a frequency field.
Among these: the original recording of “Caro Bigi”, untouched, unpolished,
just as we imagined it —
🧠 human. LOL.

No filters. No AI polish.
Just the raw signal from a time when sound was still a question,
and we were already answering it with cables, scripts, and broken speakers.

Pianoforte di Luna Crescente

This gentle acoustic composition features warm, finger-picked acoustic guitar paired with soft, breathy harmonica lines that drift in and out like a calm evening breeze. The guitar provides a steady, reassuring foundation with simple, flowing chord patterns, while the harmonica offers sparse, melodic phrases that feel reflective rather than melodic-forward. The overall mood is peaceful, grounded, and emotionally soothing, designed to ease mental tension and encourage a sense of stillness.  This track works equally well as background music for studying, meditation, nighttime relaxation, and quiet moments of reflection, offering warmth and serenity without distracting the listener.

Guiding Light

This collection of songs were composed during the initial Guess Ready Review artist residency August 2013, on acoustic guitar and piano in what is known as Ober's House or Big House. The recording setup was basic and sacrificed sound quality for ambiance. These are first drafts, while some of these compositions were further refined and used in a soundtrack for the 2014 documentary Beyond The Divide. There is an immediacy and intimacy in these demo recordings that will always take me back to the way the light curled in between the tree branches and in through the windows into that big, musty room of old books, maps and pictures; the smell of dirt and tobacco and the echos of old stories and songs filling the room.
