I originally released it as Ryan in 2021, the song found its audience and became super successful in its own right, surpassing 55,000 streams—a number bigger than the population of my hometown, Griffin, GA. For a small trans female artist, that was monumental, and I’ll always be grateful for the love and support it received.

Even with all that success, I ended up taking it down because I wasn’t ready for the attention, the vulnerability, or the spotlight it brought. I needed time to grow into the woman I’ve always been and to be able to tell the story from my own truth. Revisiting it now felt necessary—not just to honor the original, but to fully express it in the way it needed to be heard.

For this version, I reworked and rewrote the song—reshaping the lyrics, the story, and the emotion to reflect who I am today. It’s about betrayal, about leaving someone who cheated behind, and finally clearing them from my mind. It’s about moving on, reclaiming your space, and finding the freedom to breathe again.

Including it on Transparent felt essential. This song has always meant so much to me, and I’m honored that fans connected with it then and now. It’s a piece of my past, a part of my story, and today it lives stronger, deeper, and more honest than ever.

This is my cover of this beautiful song from Marillion. I stayed very close to the original but since i was not able to sing the end at the original scale (Gmaj), i decided to change the scale to Fmaj in the middle of the solo :) I think this passage add a bit of prog rock vibe
