At the same time, there is a advantage to looking at things from a certain perspective. The key ,which I think your getting at, is opening yourself up to a higher level with that knowledge you gain from that specialization. I feel that people find a reality that they feel comfortable with and happily close themselves off to everything else. It's sad in a way really.
