Rushing us headlong into a vorticist maelstrom of hard-edged drum stutter and polychromatic synth fragmentation, Sansibar sophomore long-player for Kalahari Oyster Cult - “Sans Musique” - tackles the very essence of post-trancey, breaks-loaded UK blends with unabashed joy to wreak havoc on his path. Throughout seven tracks oozing burnt kerosene and depleted uranium residue merged with a hint of sacred incense, Sansibar deploys his extra-wide vision for the present and future of dance music.

“Scully” attacks pedal to the metal, hi-intensity bass onslaughts and knee-buckling breaks roaring as the groove slings us at bullet-speed into a hot, narrow barrel of floor-focused aggression. 

Hailing from Helsinki, Finland, Sansibar is a non-pareil cosmic traveller - also producer, resident DJ at Kaiku and Post Bar and wave agitator on IDA Radio and EOS Radio - whose genre-unbound sound credentials for the likes of Kalahari Oyster Cult, Natural Sciences, Émotsiya, Darknet, Avoidance et al. have helped establish as one of today’s most intriguing talents in the European scene.

Lost Connection Remixes: Long Island Sound’s debut album gets fresh treatment from some of the most exciting producers in electronic music. Cromby, Mor Elian, James Shinra and Benjamin Damage feature on Long Island Sound’s Signs of Space imprint.

The tracks on Lost Connection Remixes are stunning reinterpretations of three tracks from Lost Connection, the debut LP from Irish duo Long Island Sound. In 2022 the Dublin-based pair released their first full-length, Lost Connection, which received a stellar review from Resident Advisor, describing it as ‘Glorious, heart-tugging sunset techno’.

For Lost Connection Remixes, the duo have called upon a heavy roster to reimagine their cross-pollination of house, techno and trance-influenced sounds. The EP epitomizes the label’s diverse and expansive sound, reimagining the Dublin duo’s 2022 album in a whole new light.

Fellow Irishman Cromby opens the EP with his rolling and uplifting remix of Power. The track utilizes intricate percussion work and a chunky bassline on top of the original’s celestial pads and vocals, driving the track in a fresh direction.

Power also sees a remix from James Shinra. In his signature and inimitable style, Shinra reinterprets the track as a vast and multi-layered soundscape, creating an immersive and otherworldly atmosphere. He combines intermittent breakbeats, lush pads and complex riffs to create a euphoric, electro-leaning remix.

Mor Elian ups the pace and intensity of the EP with her remix of Dusk. Combining enormous low-end rumbles and syncopated percussion patterns with blissful pads and celestial choirs, Mor’s remix perfectly toes the line between tough and tender.

Benjamin Damage closes the EP with two propulsive techno interpretations of the 2022 album opener, Ataria. Gated vocals, rhythmic pads and flanging high-end percussion are used to build tension, culminating in moments of high-energy dance floor rapture. Damage’s Dub remix ditches the pads and vocals, placing the percussive elements center-stage, providing a stripped-back techno tool.

Lost Connection Remixes is due for full release on April 27th.

Dublin-born and bred Long Island Sound are known for their euphoric-yet-introspective take on electronic music, toeing the line between big emotion and big-room energy. Their music has been featured on Mixmag, DJ Mag and Resident Advisor, as well as Bicep’s mix series and Spotify playlist. Following the success of their debut LP and a sold-out launch party in Dublin’s Tengu, in 2022 the pair embarked on their Summer Irish festival tour, culminating in a standout set at All Together Now.

Emotional Voyage welcomes Lai Raw once again to be onboard with his stellar productions. Having joined the label as a core member last year, it is only natural to follow up with his first solo EP, and we are extremely happy to have these fantastic productions on our imprint. The marvelous soundscape and superb mixing, in combination with originality, is something that we cherish a lot.

Lai Raw's EP ‘Meca Night’ holds 5 tracks, including a remix by UrbnMowgli & Moodrich and a reprise of its title track. Meca Night showcases a wide range of his sonic palette, which defines Lai Raw’s sound. His approach to drum programming and chopped vocals highlight this.

The title track ‘Meca Night’ was started during a holiday close to Lai Raw’s hometown, a place called Caños De Meca. Based on a patch from his travel synth of choice, the Syntakt, it explores stripped-back, progressive arrangements. ‘Hear It All Day’ is a footwork homage combined with Lai Raw’s melodic songwriting experimentations. ‘Khaos Lime’ is more than a simple club tool: It showcases a more performance-based aspect to Lai Raw’s productions as the bassline and bleepy synth chirps all emerged from a full-on jam with the Access Virus synth.

Acid synth lines, footwork, and breakbeat rhythms dominate throughout the EP. Its bouncy, upbeat, to dreamy, deep yet unconstrained powerful mood makes this a captivating and modern dance floor EP.

Thick white snow pelted down from above; the path in front of them was barely visible now the sun had set. It was a long walk back through the forest and the group had grown tired after fighting through the wind and the hail. Winter had arrived and it wasn't taking any prisoners. As they reached the depths of the forest they soon realised the snow had covered their tracks; their Hansel and Gretel breadcrumbs were no more. How would they find their way back to base? They would have to take a punt and follow their gut instead...

Following his euphoric debut release on Feel My Bicep, James Shinra brings his skilled productions to one of Scotland's best exporters of electro, Craigie Knowes. Over the last few years Mitch and Max, the guys behind the label, have released heavy hitters from some of the finest artists operating in that sphere, like Carl Finlow, Jensen Interceptor, Maelstrom and Textasy. James Shinra adds to that healthy discography with some acid driven cuts that have a "sinister, wintery feel"...
