En la cultura wixárika, la mitología ocupa un papel esencial en la vida cotidiana, política y ceremonial. Se cree todo lo que habita posee un alma, que existe un mundo invisible al cual se puede acceder por medio de rituales, para comunicarse con los Dioses. La serie ¡Ma, cuentame una historia!, retrata la manera en que el pueblo Huichol o wixárika ve e interpreta el mundo. Por medio de Ma, una mujer muy sabia que cuida a la pequeña Yali, conoceremos algunos de los relatos más importantes, que describen cómo es que aparecieron en el mundo: el sol, la luna, el fuego, el maíz, el peyote, la mujer y el hombre.
