I played and recorded this mix for @corinne-then-some, my now wife, on her 30th and then never made it public! Corinne -- you have, and continue to, expand my human experience and improve my life by encouraging me, challenging me, and loving me. Love you.

Relating to this mix, I hope to have expanded your human experience with music, house music -- it's a simple thing after all. But, ever since I first spun plates for you, a sound that you've found intriguing is bass tech house. Specifically, from music from labels like Dirtybird [@dirtybirdrecords], Relief [@reliefrecords], Casual [@cajual], This Ain't Bristol [@thisaintbristol], Box of Cats [@boxofcatsmusic], Trippy Ass Technologies [@trippyasstechno], CUFF [@thisiscuff], Suara [@suara], Anabatic [@anabaticrecords], Main Course [@maincourserecs], Perfect Driver [@perfectdriver], Nervous [@nervous-records], etc.

These labels played a key part in the formation of my "sound" as well, and so I've been delighted to share the ins-and-outs with you. As we've plunged into the bowels of the weird, twitchy, glitchy, chaotic symphonies that you'll find on these beats I've done my best to narrow down exactly what it is that caught my ear back in the early 2010s (and subsequently what caught yours).
 
So, in this mix I do my best to capture this sound. The result is a hodgepodge of old and new tunes which all encompass that "chaotic mess" we've come to love.

I'll admit though, this mix was tough for me (causing me to not release it for nearly two years) because I violated many of the DJ principles to which I've subscribed to, including:
- Tracks from the same artist
- Tracks from from the same label
- Tracks from the same label mixed into each other
- Rinsing tracks from previous mixes

And yet, I probably had more fun recording this mix than I've had on any of the previous R&R's. Maybe it's the music itself, maybe it was just removing all the expectations, or maybe it was just the fact that I was sharing a foundational sound with someone I love -- whatever it was I had a blast!
