This question came up during a discussion of Roundtown's branding. Lots of tech companies use animal logos or mascots, like the Linux Penguin, the GitHub Octocat and the Twitter Tweety Bird. 

We didn't come to any conclusions - so we invited some experts to help us answer three questions:

Would notable products like Firefox, Linux and NBC have succeeded without an animal mascot?
