Almost a decade ago, I began producing under the alias DrewsThatDude, and over time, I’ve come to appreciate how music can capture significant moments and document my growth as an artist. In 2013, I started working with Grant Tucker, producing projects like Kami and shaping the original concept for The Vault series.

By 2015/2016, I was collaborating with HW&W Records, where I met two incredible graphic designers—Angelo Vilar and Frans Clemente—who helped me develop the visuals for my projects. When designing the cover for En Amor, I wanted to capture the essence of New York City, so I illustrated it in a way that made the city feel like its own immersive world.

As my projects evolved, the cover art also told a growing narrative: we moved from an apartment setting in East LA to a luxurious condo in Koreatown. The Vault became a unique way to share my personal story. After returning to New York, I reached out to Jim Spendlove for a new artistic style that would reflect the colder environment—both mentally and physically. Around the same time, I began working with Kara Young on artwork for my collaborations with The Crushboys, specifically seeking a female artist’s perspective for that visual direction.

In 2020, I posted a tweet about my dream of starting a manga series. That led me to Bryson Boutte and AJ from the Noble Savagez team. Together, we started building out The Vault narrative to give the music I was releasing more context and purpose.

I honestly don’t know where my music, this story, or any of my other projects will ultimately take me, but I’m just trying to enjoy the ride in these crazy times. Thank you to everyone who’s supported me over the years—it truly means the world to me.

From humble Hempstead, New York, Andrew Lloyd, better known as DrewsThatDude, found his footing early on in music. He went on to become a classically trained pianist, graduating from the Berklee College of Music. With time, he grew into a multi-platinum producer, working with some of the most popular musicians in pop culture. His work earned him 2 Grammy nominations for his production on Lil Wayne Tha Carter IV and for vocals on Mac Miller Swimming. His list of credits also includes Mac Miller, VanJess, ScHoolboy Q, Omarion, Jacquees,  & many others. 

Aside from his collaborative work with major musicians, Drew has released his own music as an instrumental artist on major streaming services like Spotify, Apple Music and Soundcloud. Racking up over 20 million streams to date.
