Thought I share my most recent project with some friends... smile...  I have listened to Chris Rea most of my adult life, and found him to be a fantastic singer, artist and musician. Tiffany and I recently uploaded another song by Chris Rea, the "Ace of Hearts". The trick with this song as with any Chris Rea song is the voicing of Chris Rea, which for the most part I can make it through barely. The true strength of this song is that it is fun to play. Tiff and I are the only musicians and singers on the song and again, we take all liability and responsibility both good and bad. I had the most fun knocking out the drums. I wanted something crisp and driven.  Also this was Tiffany's first attempt to play a bass run along with me drumming the grove. She did well, but listen for yourself... And as usual, she handled all the keyboards and background vocals in her usual and passionate singing and musical interpretation... We decided to revisit one of our favorite artists Simply Red. "Holding Back the Years" is a favorite of mine and Tiffs. About eight years ago, we did this song after watching his concert. We like to play music with an idea to the future. When we play another artists song, we like to adapt it to more current times or by using different rhythms. 
That is what we did in this version. It's a blast to play and record. We hope you enjoy our new "Holding Back the Years" remix.

Hello everyone, we would like to present one our favorite songs "Twilight's Reckoning". I truly enjoyed singing this song as I became more comfortable adding my flare to it. I also enjoyed singing the harmony part in order to make the harmonies as tight as possible. 
It was a real challenge to do this song justice. My husband Gary did a marvelous job helping to come up with the chords and arrangement along with the lyrics. I wanted to make this song my own and to put my signature touch to it, so I did. I remember practicing this song repeatedly  with some passion and determination to energize the song. I appreciate Gary playing all of the guitars, bass, and drums with commitment and passion as well. He puts his best effort to mix down and master this song and what a great job he has done. So we are proud of this song and we hope you enjoy. 

Twilight's Reckoning

We are pleased to announce our newest song "Loose Lips Sink Ships". This song is very special and dear to us because we took our time to write this song along with the lyrics to match the melody. The meaning of this song speaks about the indoctrinated powers of influences in education and how it can impact students of newer generations. This song is partially an example of how indoctrination can take affect on the younger people. In the case of indoctrination, they take words innocently to refine them and in that process redefine them in a sneaky way. 

With all that being said, we are excited to share this song because it shows our new growth. With new music comes a certain social responsibility to do this right as we continue to grow in this musical journey. So we hope you enjoy this song and feel free to comment. Until then be safe.

Loose Lips Sink Ships

I love it when a "thought" comes to life. We were watching the news the other night around this Mask issue, when we turned to each other and said, "time to write a song". Here is a bluesy funk styled song "Masks", Exit4Luv Original, lightly having fun with all the choices put before us.
On a musical note, the more we play, the more we stay curious, and the more confidence we get. This is both cathartic and inspiring. Tiff and I are unique, because we have the time to dedicate ourselves to our music as well as the time to dedicate without interuptions. We push ourselves to get better each and every song. I will challenge Tiff on her keyboard and she will always challenge me to sing. We feel we are turning a corner especially in our musical development. Tiff is our lead vocalist and keyboards player. I am multi-instrumentalist playing Lead, Rhythm, and Bass Guitars as well as all Drums on our tracks. I am a "wanna" be singer thankfull for any and all chance to sing our "own" Songs. Masks

Every now and then a song comes along that forces you to focus on your level of skills because it pushes our limits. Our ideas sometimes also force to evaluate our song and forced us to learn new thigns in order to keep up our high level of standards in our music. Gary and I are learning how to play music not by what we hear on the radiom but by what we write and how we write our music. This is easier because Gary and I are muli instrumentalist which allows us versatility. In order to keep up with our high level commitment of writing high level purposeful songs, we discuss every instrument being played before we lay down any tracks. This is our process of how we ensure that our music at least has some meaning, although we jest alot in our expression of our songs. We hope you are enjoying our musical jouney and we welcome anyone who wants to comment on our song.

We are very proud to present our newest song "Bluesman With His Queen of Blues". Thanks to my husband Gary he helped out tremendously with this song. He was able to take the time to come up words to fit the melody. This song took some quality time and effort to create. It was an honor to particpate, play and sing with my husband. This is a song about schools and how building walls of doctrines impact students. Indoctrination is the precurser to DEI and as such we explore the good and bad of the intentions of DEI. Bluesman With His Queen of Blues

One of the pleasures of retirement is the ability to have the time to start a musical project. "A Two-Year Lease On Love" another Exit4Luv Original, was one of those writing projects where everything lined up where they should be and soon after, I had a groove. I enjoyed the liberty of playing a raw blues rhythm riff and stepping out of bounds every now and then. And as usual we love to poke fun at ourselves with our self deprecating humor. We had fun putting this song together in all aspects of the process. From Copyright protection to performing, and then on to "streaming" distribution it takes a concerted effort to remain focused and find the time to have fun with it. A Two-Year Lease On Love

We are please to present to you another Exit4Luv Original, "Struggles and Tears" a fun song that touches lightly on the importance of our colleges and their responsibilities to our youth and any or all citizens. This song because of the groove allowed us to work on our vocals, which is what we work on all the time. We are looking to combine my somewhat heavy voice to that of Tiffs. We both love the brilliance of Harmonizing and recognize that it will take constant adjustments to keep working on our vocals. Thankfully Tiff has a good handle on her singing style and technigue. It is also fun to watch Tiff work her songs into a blues style format. I think she has grown significantly in her ability to sing the blues. If you agree give tiff a "shout out" and let her know...

Struggle and Tears

Every now and then a special song comes out so this is one of them. What started simple turned out to be an interesting project. This song started three or four months ago. We had completed other songs and forgot about this song. So we hope you enjoy.

Putting My Own Damn Mess to Rest

Every now and then a song comes through some form of observation or a critical learning. We put this song together to send the message of hope. That with all things being equal, we should all lead happy and interesting lives. "No I In Goodbye" was a interesting song to put together, although we went through one complete iteration, we were not happy with it. Tiff and I love to sing so as with any song, we place special emphasis on tightening our harmony's, writing challenging lyrics, and believe me, we have have had some great times writing, playing our songs for you.

We are pleased to present our latest Exit4Luv Original, "The Ballad of Algo Rithm". This song was months in the making due to the many iterations that developed from this song. We wanted to be as descriptive as possible as well try to inform ourselves on just what was an "Algorithm" in the first place? What drove this mathematical expression into mainstream life and ultimately into wildly active platforms trolling for data. We ask the silly rhetorical question around the risk of "data bytes" and if bitten will we bleed? We both had a blast building this song and truly hope you enjoy listening to our music. The Ballad of Algo Rithm

We are proud release for publishing a new Exit4Luv Original song titled: "Red Right Returning". This song reminds me of how we used metaphors and/or parables in the lyrics such as "Don't rock the boat". Ultimately it means trying to avoid unnecessary trouble. There is another phrase in our song we brought to light and that is "keep a weathered eye open". It refers to staying alert in case of trouble, danger, and/or opportunity. This phrase also reminds me a another song we created called "The Cardboard Spaceship". In this song, we continuously say "keep your eyes open wide". So this song is building off of that similar theme. So all in all, it was a pleasure singing this song with Gary, I have a new appreciation for this song, and it is amazing how this song has continued to grow the more we practiced.

Every now and then circumstances around life inspire us to write a new song low and behold "voila" a star is born. We are proud to announce another Exit4Luv Original "Subjects Storylines & News". As you may know life is what you make it. This song was very cathartic. It reminds me of what people generally speak about as they define their personal definitions around the meaning of life. As a young person married to an older partner, I am learning the differences in real time when people talk about the difficulties in communication among young and old. In today's world, it seems like life revolves around subjects, storyline, and news as put forth from what we see on the television. So with that being said we hope you enjoy this song. Just maybe it might help someone clarify all that is happening in world by making it easier to break it down to better understand.

 We are pleased to announce another Exit4Luv Original "Symptom Free (knock on Wood)". This is a very special, creative and thought-provoking song. I will always remember how and when it came to be. This"Lovely"song truly came from a passionate place from my husband's heart. He wrote this on my behalf as it relates to my lifelong battle with BiPolar challenges that I face daily coming  from the wicked and hideous battle waged daily for control of my mind. It also captures what it's like for my caregiver to witness his wife who he truly loves struggle with such a serious and difficult illness for over fifteen years. Also what caregivers go through in support of my goals and takes a significant toll on their life over time especially while left to pick up the pieces of a damaged mind. Ultimately, I want to reach out and cherish this song as a message of love, with a hope, with an understanding of what life's challenges can bring, and optimism that we can pull through our struggles together as a couple. Symptom Free (Knock on Wood)

The new Exit4Luv Original, "Truth To Power" is one of those special songs highlighting the difficulty we as American face, as we learn to settle our differences in communication and trust. Our country is in a perilously dangerous place at the moment. Our country suffered a dark moment last week and it was important to Tiff and I that we understand the term "Truth To Power" so that maybe just maybe, we can all drop our defenses masqueraded as biases and stop the negative rhetoric. 
Tiff and I sat in shock as we watched the events unfold. Neither of us followed in any detail the history of the struggle but we agreed that violence is not the solution. We sat down, did the things we do (music wise), talked about our approach and objective, which is to help understand what "Truth To Power" is. We talked on how and what to do to get the courage to hold a reasonable conversation where all we would do is to help all of us understand just what our differences are, and maybe find a way to help all sides step back and "Stop, Challenge, and Choose" just what it is we want to say. Once we lay out just what it is we hope to accomplish, then choose and speak "Truth To Power". Life is way too short to waste energy on hateful rhetoric. Serves no value nor does it make our world a safer place for all.

Truth To Power

Another Exit4Luv Original, "Blueberry Budget Blues", is a simple whimsical tribute to Charlie Kirk and his family. In listening to Erika Kirk talk about Charlie and their beautiful children,  Charlie had some darling sayings and phrases he shared with his babies, one of them was their little saying where daddy went to work with Jesus so he could add to their blueberry budget, or something close to that. I was intrigued by the gentle love between the babies and Charlie Kirk. So I wrote this song around the Blueberry Budget Blues. Tiff gladly jumped on board after I explained my feelings, some tears were shed, some big hugs were given and received by Tiff and I. Blueberry Budget Blues

We are pleased to announce another Exit4Luv Original “Stop Challenge & Choose. This song was quite a challenge, but it was also a unique experience. We had worked on this song a few months ago and ran into some issues while recording. So, we decided to revisit this song to see if we could revive it again. As time went on, I became more intrigued by Gary's determination and true love of our music, his dedication to produce, write, and perform this song while also enjoying the spirit of the song. I've been given the privilege of not only co-writing this "modern lullaby", but singing this song while then making it my own. Gary and I write all of our music together, we collaborate with each other, pulling from each other's expertise to make the song become what it is. It is truly rewarding to listen back on how well we record our vocals and how we played each and every instrument collectively in order to reach our goal. There were moments when we wanted to put this song back for another rainy day, it fought our attempts to rhythm, for a smooth flow, but we kept pushing through. I knew there was something special about this song and the way the melody was designed. All in all, we hope you enjoy this song and feel free to leave a comment.

Stop Challenge & Choose

We are proud to announce another Exit4Luv Original “The Least You Ask The Most You Get”. This song has come a long way in a short period of time. I also believe this song brought out some of our most creative moments while playing our instruments. There was a moment when I thought to myself how is Gary able to play multiple instruments like the drums, guitar, and bass guitar with such passion and purpose. I am grateful for him, and I believe we both bring different but special God given gifts and as a couple we can accomplish great things. We both recognize that we have to be at peace and in a good place in order to give our best efforts. There is also tremendous preparation before we perform each song, and this is personal to us. We recognize that some people may have the same beliefs as us and some don’t, it is our intent to be responsible and respectful to both sides of any argument. So, it is our intent and responsibility to remain neutral in any argument and to recognize everyone has feelings. We are both “apolitical”, so even though it may appear that we are taking a position, we are not. It is never our intention to offend anyone. We both are blessed to be able to play music together honestly, we share, we communicate and embrace each other throughout the process. After each song we put out, we feel we are better musicians and humans. People may not understand this but have over a hundred published copyrighted songs. We are constantly practicing and writing our own songs. We are efficient, it is our intent and responsibility to stay current in our ability to play, master, and mix our music. We both help and support each other when we sing and play so that we know when to come in. For example, when Gary is playing drums, he becomes very thoughtful on how he places clues in our song to give advance notice on when to come in. We also thought this song had a great hook “The least you ask is the most that you’ll get”. This phrase is a commonsense factor in everyday life. With that being said, it is a great experience, and the side benefit is as a married couple, we get to help each other grow dynamically. We are proud to present another Exit4Luv Original "Keeps Me Hanging On". This was such a whimsical and fun song to play. I became truly inspired by Gary to write this song. We both put our minds together and created such a tender and lovely melody in order to fit the words to it. Meanwhile we played live together, I played a gentle keyboard part while Gary recorded a beautiful, soft, but subtle guitar part. I also admired his bass guitar playing because of the way his tone and texture sounded, it was smooth. Little did I know the music we recorded truly set me up to sing such a creative and successful vocal part. The more I practiced singing, the more I became confident and as time went on my vocals began to come alive with the support of the music. So, without the support of Gary it would not have made it possible to record in this particular way. Altogether this became one of our best joint efforts creating music together. Keeps Me Hanging On

We are proud to release another Exit4Luv Original "Man Behind The Page". This simple song is was formulated into an old love song, where an old Bluesman reflects upon his life as he recalls the love he has for his Bronx-born Queen of Blues. He romanticizes the hurdles both self-induced and those created by the short sighted biases so prevalent in modern society's. It's a sentimental and whimsical journey. It was very refreshing in writing and piecing together the song. Hi this is Tiff. So the challenge and the objective of this song was the "call and response" idea of how we approached the singing. There was no set pattern to the singing, it was spontaneous. With that being said, it is our intention to bring something uplifting to our audience. Basically, the idea was Gary had to put our music aside until he retired. Now that we are retired, we have the uninterrupted time to do all of our music work. For example, Gary might focus on more of the recording, mixing, and mastering side, while I focus on the music management side. I usually work on the the music distribution side and at some point we both come together and review what barriers we might be faced with before moving forward. Some Just Buy Distractions

Another Exit4Luv Original, "When Silence Wins" is a gorgeous song with steady haunting rhythms and with meaningful "Profound" words. The song touches on how damaging silence can be in any or all relationships when it is used as a means to control. This is one of those rare "special" songs. We as usual worked extremely diligently on our voices to ensure we can tighten up the harmonies. Tiff has continuously worked on improving my singing skills ever since we first met. I'm a slow learner.  In doing so, we uncovered some otherwise neglected clever parameters our trusty and hard working Tascam Dp-32. I actually have an older model Tascam Dp24 with a cd player. We still have our Tascam Dp-03 small portable unit, which we used to learn how to use the fundamentals of. These are some very well designed "intuitive" recorders and although the small sweet and purposeful EQ'ing, the ability to bring out the best vocals is a testament to their high quality and durable design and in the exact price point for the average musician. We hope you enjoy. We understand there are small issues of signing in to the "Official" Exit4Luv Originals website and we ask for your patience as we both, Tiff and I, develop better accessibility in the area of web design. Oh, one last thing sometimes we run into problems when it comes to the naming of our songs. When Silence Wins

"I Got A Derelict Degree" another Exit4Luv Original will be dropped early next week. This was an interesting song to both write and record. Different tempos come into play which makes it exceptionally fun in recording and playing. Tiff did real well in setting up her keyboard to take on the challenge of the piano voicing and executing a nice mood in the intro.  More information to follow....

I Got A Derelict Degree

Another special Exit4Luv Original “Full Stop Blues” This particular song was a blast to sing vocals and harmonies with my husband. This song has grown tremendously over a short period of time. I truly appreciate Gary’s patience with me as we took our time developing this song. So, we are blessed to be able to live our dream of music together. If anyone has dreams of making music don’t give up on it. When you do have some time to spend on creating music, when you give it your best, it becomes worth it. One area of education is we had to align the words with the melody. Another lesson we took from the song is about the power of pausing within the song and allowing it to breathe. With a little tender, love, and care, because of our efforts the outcome became very rewarding. The bass guitar sounded romantic, very supportive of our vocals, and our music. Full Stop Blues

We are extremely proud to present yet another Exit4Luv Original “The Danger In The Mirror “. If we ever thought patience was a virtue, then the creation of this song certainly demonstrates all of that. So, with all that being said, we took our time with this song. We both put aside our ego’s and contributed carefully and thoughtfully to the music together. It is truly rewarding to know we play off each other’s ideas. There is something very intrinsic and rewarding when at the completion of a “new” song and all that goes into creating, developing and producing it. At time tempers can flare, ideas are hashed out, music styles are fleshed out and created. Yet when the final finishes are added, we upload the song to those brave souls who follow us and hope that they find pleasing and comfortable those ideas, sounds and rhythms we put into the song in hope they may find something helpful to relate to. It is always our intention when recording our vocal tracks, to sing, to play, to mix, master, record with much purpose, crispness and clarity, along with more thoughtful, sweeter, and tighter harmonies, and to always complement each other’s voice. 
Although it can be mind boggling, and challenging figuring out where to place both of our voices in the music, we keep pressing and trying new things until we hear what we’re looking for. Sometimes we are not even sure if we know what we are looking for, until that is, we hear it… That moment at playback when the new verse or new harmony sounds wonderful, we look at each other and smile… 
We also enjoy setting up the intro to the song because it sets the stage for the rest of the song. It is the one thing that Gary works very hard on and that is the musical introduction of the song. Gary asked me to evaluate and if possible, add in a horn section, and afterwords, I thought it added incredibly well to the wall of sound. 
I started to notice Gary’s bass guitar, it hit the sweet spots, and it was right in the groove. Gary plays many instruments, and he won’t admit, but when the time comes to write the bass part, his eyes light up. When he closes his eyes, I know then something sweet is being developed. It also felt like the bass guitar and horn section were communicating back and forth to each other especially in the intro, which I thought was graceful. 
All in all, we are thankful that we get to create music together and thank the Lord daily for the chance to be able to play. We hope we bring something special to our audience. Danger In The Mirror

"We Damn Well Demand to Live Blues" This Exit4Luv Original song, wow what a ride songs are stubborn in their development because they either give up little information or too much information in order have a decent melody. When it comes to this song, I enjoyed playing the keyboard part because I was able to incorporate harmony sounds and riffs. On the keyboard, I also played and experimented with my pitch bend in the intro to add a Latin style to our song. We enjoy playing extemporaneously together, particularly on this song. The choice of the structure of the drums in this song was key to how I played my keyboard part. For those that might be thinking what an awkward title, it’s because as we were writing this song to express our freedom of wanting to live under our current rule. Furthermore, as we were writing this song, we recognized that the freedom of wanting to live is a gift as God intended. All in all, we hope you enjoy this twelve-bar blues song and feel free to comment.

Time really flies. It's been roughly nine years now since I wrote that original bio. We are now into our thirteenth year of marriage and a whole bunch of songs. What a journey it has been. 
One day while driving back from Houston, Tiffany and I were talking about our music, which we both played together on and sometimes collaborated on original songs, when we decided to give our music some legitimacy, and decided to give our music project a "band name".  
After what appeared to be a long extended moment of silence, we realized just how hard it was to find a name for our band. For miles and miles we tossed one name out after another, yet nothing stuck or sounded legitimate. Finally after what appeared to be hours and noticing our gas tank was getting low, we decided to get off the freeway to get gas and hopefully a bite to eat. We then decided to find an "exit ramp", and all of a sudden a lightbulb went off in my head. 
We are very much in love with each other and usually out of nowhere and at any time, one of us would look at the other and just say, "I love you". Well it just so happened that as I was looking for the nearest exit off ramp to fill up our car, Tiff looked at me and told me she "loved me". It was at that moment when I saw the exit ramp coming up, she told me that she "loved me" and I said wow this is an "Exit4luv" off ramp, so I looked at her and smiled. What if we called our band just that? So there is a little insight into how we named our musical project, Exit4luv. True story. It happened on interstate 10 just outside of New Orleans.

As you can plainly see and it's not too hard to notice, Tiff and I are kind of a unique looking couple. We stand out in a crowd in many different ways. It has not been easy on the two of us by any stretch of the imagination, however, don't ever doubt our love for one another. The bond forged between us runs deep and true. However, the actual secret to our love and understanding of each other is really kind of simple. Tiffany who is younger, is really old beyond her young years, she is kind of like the proverbial "old soul".  Where I, the actual "old person" on the other hand, has never grown up.  I say this "tongue and cheek" of course. 
Actually at first, she thought I had the maturity of a 15 year old. She was actually being generous, just kidding... 
I think right now I act and feel like I'm still in my early twenty's. To our way of thinking, age is truly just a number. 
So you see, this is where we are as a happily married couple. Sounds intriguing and funny, in a cute kind of way, yet it is so very true.
To play my guitar, my drums, and teach myself the bass guitar all the while trying to learn how to record music was my retirement dream. Life was just too damn busy to do both, provide for my family and play my music. 
For some reason that only God knows why, after working for what appeared to be a lifetime and felt like an eternity, I find myself living that dream. 
I raised a family, earned my Doctorate, retired from management, became an entrepreneur and taught college as an adjunct professor of "applied mathematics".
And fortunately for me, after what appeared to be a pure chance encounter, I met Tiffany in 2010.  Unbeknownst to her, she understood my passion and zeal for music and encouraged me to focus and prioritize my life, and to stay true to that dream. It is so cool that I can say "dear friend", because after a couple of years,Tiffany became my wife. We became friends first which was important to both of us.
I am retired, and a two tour Vietnam combat service disabled Vet. I have lived a great life. I am blessed beyond my wildest dreams. 
The rest is just Blah, blah blah...
