Broken dreams - Nino Chikviladze

William Paasche joins me on a dynamic and explorative jazz-rock journey... that perhaps some could compare to going on an OFF ROAD adventure! 
Actually... an "Off Road" adventure was actually what was on my mind when I composed this piece as I was traveling in the great South-West a few years ago.
I'm thrilled with the extra dimension of sound and energy that Willian Paasche brings to this track with his signature sounding style firey synth solo!
William also used a new experimental sound on this track(something never heard from him before), as he performs his synth solo using a Moog Sub-37 plugged into a Marshall Origin 20 HC guitar amp cranked up. VERY COOL!
It's an eight minute adventurous sonic journey... so strap in and ENJOY!

YOU LIFT ME UP
In 2008 I had a dream
And in this dream I was in west Edmonton Mall at a jewelry store, out of know where I heard a voice say with urgency “drop the earrings and run !! NOW, drop the earrings and run you are going to be late and you can’t be late, RUN…..It was so urgent, I dropped the earrings and took off running, I ran like my life depended on it. I couldn’t be late, and I was afraid that I was going to be. I finally got the end of the mall and this voice said "go up the stairs and go quickly!”. And that’s When I saw the spiralling stair case before me that seemed to go up forever. I was instantly defeated knowing I couldn’t climb these stairs and make it in time, BUT that's when I heard His voice again. He told me to go stand in the middle of the stair case, place my palms together, and lift them up to heaven over my head, as soon as I followed His direction, I began to fly in the middle of this staircase with incredible speed.
Suddenly, I was at the top, and found myself in a courtroom, rich deep dark woods. I saw a microphone on a stand placed in front of the judge's chair "go to the microphone, and pick it up" the minute I picked it up this music began to play, I was startled because I was alone in this courtroom and curiously began looking around to see where it was coming from. Then I heard, “NOW SING” I had no clue what I was going to sing……all I did was open my mouth and out the words easily flowed. I began to become very aware that I was dreaming and that I was to pay attention to the words that I was singing, It was a song about being lifted up and walking on water. I knew I was releasing my own song right there in that empty court room….upon waking up, I quickly jumped out of bed. I could still hear myself singing and could even still hear the music. I raced to the kitchen and turned the stove light on and under this light I began to quickly write down the lyrics. It didn’t take long at all, as 45 seconds previous I was actually there singing in this court room….. In a moment of despair I cried out Lord, how am I going to remember the melody to this song and I instantly heard the Holy Spirit reply “just think about John Bon Jovi’s song wanted dead or alive”. I literally laughed out loud, then thought I was crazy, and then went back to bed.
The next day after rushing the boys off to school I grabbed the song and sat at the keys, all I could remember from that song was one line so I sang it out like a rock star “ I’m a cowboy, on a steel horse I ride, IM WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE” and in that instant His presence came in like a flood and my hands fell on a C chord on the keys and out came this song and this melody.
