Lila Tobiasz, 20, moved from Poland to Berlin to study contemporary art. She started to paint with chalks in the street a year ago to give color and life to the city but now she does it for the money. She performs this art spontaneously. Tobiasz loves to paint in the streets and prefers psychedelic themes. She paints faces because people love faces. “People like to compare art with themselves, most of people” she said. Each box of chalk has fifteen pieces and she uses three to four pieces for a picture. Her favorite color is white. Most of her pictures are black and white. “The white and the black have a great contrast, much better than blue and yellow,” she said. “It looks just nice, so classy, monochrome. I like the style”. Tobiasz draws on Alexanderplatz because the ground is very good, it is plain and helps her to make the shadows. The people at Alexanderplatz are very friendly. She said Berliners support her art. “They say my pictures are very great for the city, it makes the city more colorful”.
