"I studied a lot of Latin in high school, where we used to translate Latin compositions and texts as well as study mythology and epic poems, it's part of our culture to study them," HÅN says. "Calling this song 'gymnasion' was a reference both to the place where I met the person in the song and to that period of my life together with the universe of little things I associate it with. Plus it's a cool word, it means different things and I like words with different meanings."

Looking Like That

Drinker is the bicoastal recording project of singer-songwriter Aaron Mendelsohn and producer-composer Ariel Loh. The two met in Brooklyn in 2016, brought together by their shared love of artists such as Bon Iver, Fever Ray and James Blake. Out of that initial collaboration came 2017’s sublime debut Happy Accident EP.It was around that time that Aaron moved to LA. In spite of the huge physical distance it created between them, the duo continued to explore and develop exciting new material. Two years of cross-country collaboration produced the band's 2019 debut full-length album Fragments. Lead single “Fragment II” reached #1 on HypeMachine and the singles that followed received support from KCRW’s “Morning Becomes Eclectic” and BBC1’s Radio Xtra. Less than a year later, Drinker return with the They Don't Want To Know EP, out early summer 2020 via B3SCI Records.
