ACT 2, SCENE 2
(Five years later.  TOM waits in the boardroom of a financial building with MALCOLM, a financier.  YURI and Russian CODERS are active in Russian building.  BROCK and five-year old DAUGHTER stand in front of the financial building with DEBBY (BROCK’s lab manager and TOM’s daughter).)

CODERS (in Russian)
[Labor!]
[Technology!]
[Freedom!]

YURI and CODERS (gazing away from their screens)
[Beautiful] Lekwaa…
[Powerful] Lekwaa…
[Mysterious] Lekwaa…

TOM
Where the hell is Lekwaa?
The suits are waiting!
Money is washing!
It’s amateur hour in the Asylum!

(LEKWAA rushes on stage, but stops when she sees her DAUGHTER.)

DAUGHTER (rushing to LEKWAA)
I love you, Mommy!

LEKWAA
Stay with your father,
I’ll be back soon with marvelous news!

(As LEKWAA prepares to leave, BROCK stops her.)

BROCK
Wait.  We have to talk.
I saw your business expenses
Are being charged to the University.
This is not what we agreed to.
Those are separate accounts.

LEKWAA
You think I have time to choose one bucket from another?
The other account was empty.
A business can’t run on… fumes!

BROCK
You must stop this at once.
The school will take measures.

DEBBY
[to LEKWAA] Serious measures.
This must be rectified.

[Aside to BROCK] Brock, we don’t have a choice.

LEKWAA (sung w/ BROCK & DEBBY)
Why, why are you bothering me with this?
[to BROCK] When you say that, it sounds ridiculous
They are waiting for me,
Waiting for me.
For me.  For me!	

BROCK (sung w/ LEKWAA & DEBBY)
As you say, this is non- negotiable.
The school will take measures.

LEKWAA (mocking BROCK)

[LEKWAA pushes BROCK away forcefully.]

[LEKWAA prepares to leave.]

BROCK
Lekwaa.  Lekwaa.
You promised you would no longer do this.

LEKWAA 
They are waiting for me.

BROCK
Lekwaa, you’re leaving no time for your family.

LEKWAA
There will be time for that later.
Tom has found new investors, investors with deep pockets!

BROCK (becoming quite angry)
Lekwaa!  Lekwaa!!
You have broken so many promises!

[They are interrupted by a sudden clap of thunder.]

LEKWAA [spoken]
We’ll talk about this later.
Take her home.

[Assuming the position he did in his wingsuit, BROCK holds his overcoat over his DAUGHTER.]

BROCK [spoken]
Here, darling.

[BROCK and his DAUGHTER exit with DEBBY.]
